The use of the standard and badge of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was introduced into the practice of the state and diplomatic protocol of the republic on December 29, 1995, by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On the standard and procedure for the official use of the insignia of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan”.

The President’s standard is one of the official insignia of the highest official of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The location of the standard is the office in the Residence of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the capital of the republic.

There are documents displaying daily work of the President: schedules of works, working notebooks with records and marks of the Head of state, his speeches at meetings on a table. There is a pen using which Nursultan Abishevich signed a number of the major documents in the history of the country - laws, decrees, orders, appointments and other. The meetings with the heads of the foreign states, representatives of the foreign delegations were held at this table.
