The exhibition “The category of eternity” organized from the funds of the Museum of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and International Antinuclear movement “Nevada - Semipalatinsk” (Almaty city).
The materials displayed on the exhibition told about the history of Semipalatinsk test sity, after-effects of the nuclear testings, but the main goal of the exhibition was to show the role of “Nevada-Semipalatinsk” movement, its founder O. Suleimenov in closing the Test site. In the exhibition displayed the materials from the U. Kuidin’s photo album, the documents from the personal archives of the Head of the state and archives of the antinuclear movement “Nevada-Semipalatinsk”. The main result of the development of parliamentary and people’s diplomacy became the Decree of the President of Kazakh SSR N. Nazarbaev about the closing Semipalatinsk nuclear test site. The centre of the hall occupied by the “The bitterness of a wormwood”.
In the opening ceremony took part the representatives of Presidential administration, deputies of Parliament of the RK, the chiefs of the central state agencies, diplomatic corps accredited in Astana city, the representatives of the cultural community of the republic.
With the speech of welcome addressed the chief of OSCE center in Astana city Mr. A. Kalchevski, the president of the international antinuclear movement “Nevada-Semipalatinsk” Mr. O. Suleimenov, the director of the Museum of the First President of the Eepublic of Kazakhstan Mrs. A. Sagyngali.
