Since October 2015 the Library of Elbasy is successfully implementing a project to organize two-day training seminars “Plan of the Nation: 100 concrete steps”. In 2017 the topic of seminar was the idea of Elbasy “Mangilik El”, which was analyzed in historical, political, economic and ideological dimensions. In 2018 the seminar was built on the article of Elbasy “Looking into the future: modernization of public consciousness”.
In 2019 the seminar received its current name “The path to the future begins with yourself”. This training seminar was based on program documents. There are messages of N. Nazarbayev since 2018 “New opportunities for development in the context of the fourth industrial revolution”, “Growth of the welfare of Kazakhstanis: increase of income and quality of life”, articles “Looking to the future: modernizing public consciousness” and “Seven edges of the Great steppe”, as well as the book of Elbasy “The Era of independence”. Containing of the messages is the peculiarity of this training seminar.
The topics of the training seminars are updated annually, keeping pace with the socio-political agenda. To date, more than 10 000 listeners have taken part in this project.
Since 2020, due to the epidemiological situation in the country, two-day training seminars have been replaced by two-day online webinars. At the seminars, attention is paid not only to theoretical material, but also trainings are held to focus on the development of critical and project thinking, leadership qualities, to teach young people to work in a team, as well as to consolidate the lecture material by performing various exercises.
The webinar is certified, and the practice of awarding letters of thanks “For the most interesting project” and “For active participation in the training seminar” has been introduced. This has become an additional incentive for the course participants.
Participants of the training seminar give a lot of positive feedback. Here is one of them: “Having attended the webinar “The path to the future begins with yourself”, I got plenty of experience and emotions, as well as new knowledge about Kazakh culture, its importance in the process of modernization and development of the country. Moreover, the lectures and training, conducted by professors of the library of the First President helped me to learn a lot about the life’s journey of Elbasy. I am very grateful to the administration and professors of the Library for the opportunity, which is available to all students for their development, by taking part in such events.”
