Aslan Azerbayev, a leading researcher of the Service for Social, Humanitarian and Educational Projects of the Library of Elbasy, delivered an online lecture on this topic as part of the historical excursion "Tarihy tereƞ Nauryz", dedicated to the "Day of History" to history teachers, methodologists and employees of the libraries of the Pavlodar region.
The event was organized by S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar Regional Scientific Library together with the Innovative Center for Education Development of the Pavlodar region in order to familiarize the pedagogical community with the origins of the celebration of Nauryz in Kazakhstan and other countries, strengthen peace and friendship in Kazakhstan's land, preserve national identity and popularize national values.
"Nauryz is a celebration of the awakening of nature, the launch of a new planetary cycle. Together with the beginning of a new cycle according to the solar calendar, people are spiritually "renewed", clearing themselves of filth, bad thoughts, forgetting previous quarrels and gossip. This is a celebration of the triumph of light over darkness, of good over evil. On the day of the spring equinox, people rejoice at the end of winter, think about the past year, comprehend the importance of a person in the world, the value of peace and goodness, with pure intentions and joy begin the new year. Nauryz is the rebirth of all that is pure, bright and good in the souls of people.
In the history of the spring renewal holiday, the Persian name of the holiday was fixed, which means "new day", in the Kazakh version it sounds like Nauryz, in the Tatar version - Nauruz, in Bashkir - Nauruz, in Kyrgyz - Nooruz, in Turkmen – Novruz, etc. There is an opinion that Zoroastrianism gave this holiday a spiritual and ritual structure and its Iranian origin as a holiday of farmers before the spring.
Kazakh researchers, recognizing the fact of the spread of Zoroastrianism in the ancient and early Middle Ages on the territory of Kazakhstan, identify the Tengrian roots and features of the pastoral culture of the Turkic nomads in the spring festival, since the nomad perceived the day of the spring equinox as the start of a new cycle. And March 22 is proposed to be called "Ulystyn uly kuni" – "The Great Day of the Earth and the People".
The official celebration of Nauryz was resumed in our country in 1988 by the Decree of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy N.Nazarbayev dated March 15, 1991.
Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in the article "Tauelsizdik barinen kymbat", the instructions given in which are a logical continuation of the implementation of the "Rukhani Zhangyru" program, mentioned the importance of the Nauryz holiday in preserving social unity, stability through national values", AAzerbayev said during his lecture.
The reports were also made by Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of L. N. Gumilyov ENU, M. Alpysbes, President of the Kazakh National Cultural Center of the Omsk Region Zh. Bekmagombetov, Head of the Department of the Pavlodar Regional Museum of History and Local Lore named after G.N. Potanin, D.Opabekova.
