With limited access, the libraries and museums around the world are developing new forms of communication with the audience.
The library of Elbassy, being an example of successful integration of scientific, library, archive and museum activities, has been successfully practicing new formats of excursion and exhibition activities for several months - virtual exhibitions, video exhibitions, video tours, and online exhibitions.
A series of Zoom excursions "Secret code No. 71" was organized for National Currency Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is celebrated on November 15. A new type of excursion is visiting the museum online in real-time.
The history of the national currency - tenge - is not only the history of the formation of the currency. This is also the history of the country, for which it was the tenge that became the decisive, strong argument that consolidated sovereignty and made the national economic policy independent. You can follow this rich historical path in the Museum of the Library of Elbassy, located in the building of the first residence of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Students of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography became the first "visitors" of Zoom excursions "Secret code No. 71". They learned about the history of money circulation on the territory of Kazakhstan, traced the connection of the tenge design with historical events, learned many interesting facts about the process of creating banknotes and coins, their protective elements and international awards.
One of the most popular questions was the question about the name of the Zoom tour. Why "Secret code No. 71"?
- In May 1992, secret decrees of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On priority measures for the creation of the Mint of the National State Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan" and "On the creation of a printing factory of the National State Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan" were issued. Kazakhstan did not have its own banknote factory. The Government, therefore, negotiated with foreign firms offering paper printing services. No. 71 - thus the order of Kazakhstan for printing tenge of the English banknote factory "Harrison and sons" was classified, said expert of the Library Excursion Service, Kairzhan Konyrshin.
At the end of the tour, a quiz was held for students.
