The Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy was visited by Yerzhan Amarkhanov, who in August 2018 rescued the passengers of a burning bus that was traveling from Semey to Novosibirsk. The incident occurred at night. In the first minutes, the bus driver did not understand that something was happening. Yerzhan Amarkhanov was one of the first to feel that something was wrong and immediately reacted. In just a few minutes, Yerzhan took 48 people out of the bus, many of whom had already inhaled toxic gas. The rescued people later called this day their second birthday.

Yerzhan Amarkhanov was born and raised in Semey. He is a master of sports in Greco-Roman wrestling. Recalling that unfortunate trip, Yerzhan says that at the critical moment he was not thinking about himself, but about people. Among the passengers were both elderly and children.

"Almost fifty people were quickly taken out of the burning bus. Everything was happening fast. I must admit that every time I think about that event, I also remember my coaches, who gave me the basics not only of sports but also of life values in general. I myself am a coach today, I bring up the boys. And I want them to grow up to be real men, even if they do not become Olympic champions. Being a human being is the most important thing in life", Yerzhan said.
A tour of the halls of the Elbasy Library Museum was organized for the guest. In one of them, dedicated to the winners of the republican project "100 new personalities of Kazakhstan", Yerzhan Amarkhanov was pleasantly surprised to see his photo on the stand as a finalist of the 2019 contest.

"I came to the capital specifically to visit the museum of the Library of the Elbasy. This is the first time I see a museum that is so technologically advanced and modern. Here, one thing logically follows from the other, which gives a complete picture of our country, the people, the independence and achievements of Kazakhstan. The project "100 new personalities of Kazakhstan" is also one of the achievements of the country, because it gives a good impetus to many Kazakhstanis who work for the benefit of the people. To see my photo among such people is a great honor for me. I will show it to my students for motivation", E. Amarkhanov shared.
Yerzhan Amarkhanov was very impressed by the hall "Pride of Kazakhstan", equipped with interactive platforms where you can, for example, lift a barbell, box or ride a bike race, competing with a virtual rival. The guest noted the high importance of sports in the life of the younger generation.
"I've been playing sports since I was seven. And now, when it is very difficult to distract children from gadgets, sports have become particularly important. In fact, sport is necessary for all spheres of human life. This is the health of everyone, the health of the whole nation. I am proud to live in Kazakhstan. And the names of our athletes reflected in this hall make us even more patriots of our homeland. I wish you all health and happiness!", - said Yerzhan Amarkhanov.
