On December 8, 2020, the Museum of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted an online award ceremony for participants of the International Creative Contest "Independence of Kazakhstan and Elbassy" among media workers dedicated to Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Contest "Independence of Kazakhstan and Elbassy" has been held since 2016 to highlight the country's achievements over the years of independence, popularize the "Nazarbayev model", ideas and initiatives of Elbassy as the basis of Kazakhstan statehood. The event was organized by the Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation and the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbassy.
The ceremony was opened by Director of the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbassy, Chair of the Contest Commission Amerkhan Rakhimzhanov.
"The Contest "Independence of Kazakhstan and Elbassy" is held for the 5th time this year. Over the years, we have received more than 2.5 thousand creative works. These are materials from media representatives from all regions of Kazakhstan, as well as from Azerbaijan, Germany, Romania, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Japan. High activity of journalists is observed in all categories of the Contest: "Best article in newspapers and magazines", "Best TV material", "Best radio material", "Best publication in Internet media" and others. In total, more than 540 works from more than 120 media representatives were submitted to the Contest this year. We are pleased with the growing quality of creative works that reveal the successes of our state achieved over the years of independence, the importance and significance of the ideas and initiatives of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbassy Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev. We thank all journalists from Kazakhstan and abroad who actively responded and took part in the Contest. We wish you new bright victories and success!", A. Rakhimzhanov congratulated the participants of the award ceremony.
In his remarks, Deputy Executive Director of the Foundation of Nursultan Nazarbayev Alkey Margulanuly noted:
"The geography of the Contest expands. This year, the works of journalists from Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and Mongolia were very interesting. In other words, many topical issues of our Independence and the role of Elbassy associated with it are very well perceived by the international media. The role of journalists in our life and their value is indisputable, they will always be an important part of the development of Kazakhstan's society", A. Margulanuly stressed.
In the category "Best publication in foreign media" 1st place was awarded to Andrey Buzarov (portal "Economistua.com", Ukraine); 2nd place – Radu Magdinу (European Business Review, Romania); 3rd place - the team of the project "Khush kyrdik" (TV channel "MY5", Uzbekistan).
"I am very happy to be among the winners of this Contest, for me, for our team, this is a very prestigious award. Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are two fraternal nations that are forever linked by a common culture, language, traditions and national values. The work of journalists from our countries strengthens interethnic friendship and contributes to the further successful prosperity of relations between our countries. This is a huge value of the Contest, which gives an opportunity to enter even deeper into the culture of different countries, and, above all, Kazakhstan", said Otabek Kasymov, Director of the project "Khush kyrdik".
In the nomination "Best article in newspapers and magazines": 1st place - Oksana Myagkikh (Industrialnaya Karaganda newspaper), 2nd place - Aibek Taskaliev (Aktobe newspaper), 3rd place - Igor Prokhorov (Kazakhstanskaya Pravda newspaper).
"I have been participating in the contest for four years, I send my best works to it, and I have never lost hope of success. Today I am very happy that I was awarded the award for the first time and I am sincerely grateful for the assessment of my journalistic work. Participation in such a prestigious contest is a great event for a journalist and, as a rule, a positive development of his future career. The current success has given me an even greater desire to reach heights in my favorite profession", said Igor Prokhorov.
Aigul Zhunusova (Khabar TV channel) became the winner in the nomination "Best TV Material", the 2nd place - the team of the Directorate of Information Programs of the First Channel "Eurasia", the 3rd place was taken by Gulnaz Karimzhankyzy (RTRK "Kazakhstan", Atyrau).
In the nomination "Best radio material" 1st place was awarded to Lyazzat Tiyishbekkyzy (Radio "Shalkar"), 2nd place - Gulnaz Aitkulova (Radio "Astana"), 3rd place was awarded to Mukhamediyar Rashay ("Qazaq radiosy").
In the nomination "The best publication in the Internet media" 1st place went to Kanat Makhambet (IA "Inbusiness.kz"), 2nd place - Altynbek Kumyrzakuly (IA "Kazinform"), 3rd place - Olzhas Beisenbaev (IA "Kazinform").
