VALUABLE KNOWLEDGE FOR FUTURE VOTERS

The electoral system of the Republic of Kazakhstan was the topic of the museum lesson of the Library of Elbasy for pupils of the No. 8 school-lyceum of the capital. The students learned about the history of the formation of the electoral system and law in Kazakhstan, which is among the manifestations of an independent state. High school pupils shared their opinion about the importance of civil responsibility of each resident of the country participating in the elections.

During the years of independence, Kazakhstan has carried out extensive work with a view to creating conditions for open and fair elections, a continuous system of legal education for citizens and the development and public participation of voters. In the course of the lesson, the children mentioned the elections to the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan held on 10 January this year. It is known that children get their first knowledge about elections in the family when their father and mother go to vote on Sunday. Thus, the foundations of civic education are laid.
Why it is important to go to the polls and what the primaries, presidential elections, members of Parliament and maslikhats are - all this information was presented in the form of short lectures, and with the help of historical documents, archival data stored in the Library of Elbasy.

In the practical part of the lesson, training was organized, in which students discussed the topic of elections. The task "I participate in elections" became fascinating – pupils chose the president of the school's self-government body. In this part, the students tried to demonstrate their leadership, organizational skills and the ability to conduct a dialogue.

In the article "Independence above all", President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. K. Tokayev said: "The XXI century is an era of new knowledge and technologies. Every person can improve his or her competitiveness only by continuously improving himself or herself, mastering new professions and constantly adapting to the demands of the times." The important goals of the museum lessons of the Library of Elbasy are the development of communication skills among teenagers, the formation of responsibility and patriotism among the younger generation by studying the history of the independence of the state, the most important stages of its construction.
