THE UNIQUE EDITION. 1949 RELEASE OF "THE PATH OF ABAI" IN THE LIBRARY OF ELBASSY

The Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbassy has been replenished with a rare book – one of the first copies of the novel "The path of Abai" by the outstanding Kazakh writer Mukhtar Auezov in Russian. According to the Rare Book Museum at the establishment of the "Gylym Ordasy" of the KS MES RK, the novel "Abai" was first published in 1945 in Moscow. However, due to the difficult post-war economic situation, the circulation of the book was sharply reduced, and then completely stopped. 

Recent addition of the Library of Elbassy "Abai" was published in 1949 under the editorship of Leonid Sobolev. This series of books was translated into 20 languages at once and became one of the best works in the world.   
         The interesting thing is that the book is divided into two volumes, not four. On its first page, there is a portrait of Mukhtar Auezov with his own signature. And on the next page, it is written that the author was awarded the Stalin Prize, I degree by the decision of the Council of Ministers of the USSR. 

The precious relic became a great gift for the anniversary of the great poet. This year, it was 175 years since the birth of Abai Kunanbayuly. During this year, the country held about 500 events in honor of the great philosopher-thinker.
         The Library Elbassy  also held a number of events this year, in particular, the annual special project "Abai okulary", aimed at promoting the literary legacy of the poet, the formation of a culture of reading and literary taste of Kazakh youth. 

In addition, in honor of the anniversary, the Library of Elbassy presented to readers a recently published collection of works by the genius of the Kazakh people. A virtual exhibition "Abai's legacy as a moral reference point" was also held here.
         The First President - Elbassy N. A. Nazarbayev emphasized the value of his legacy: "The world of Abai is our guiding star. It won't let us lose our way. We use it to determine our main landmarks. He had long ago answered all the most difficult and embarrassing questions..."
         The wisdom of Abai is the spiritual support of the Kazakh people. As the founder of Kazakh literature, he left an indelible mark on the history of the country, the minds and souls of millions of Kazakhstanis and foreign readers.
