The project "100 new personalities of Kazakhstan", initiated by Elbassy, was a breakthrough in opening new names in our country. Over the past three years, Kazakhstanis have learned about two hundred successful compatriots who make a valuable contribution to the development of Kazakhstan. Sports, science, culture, business, medicine, society - in each of these spheres, there are those who make their lives and those around them better and more effective. In 2019, Assel Zhanasova was the winner in the "Society" category. Since July 20, 2020, she is the Vice-Minister of Integration and Trade, responsible for the development of digital trade, e-commerce, promotion of exports of Kazakhstani goods and technical regulation.
At the time of participation in the project "100 new personalities of Kazakhstan", Assel Zhanasova worked as the CDO of JSC "AIFC Administration", where she was in charge of the development and implementation of the AIFC IT strategy and initiatives of the financial technology hub. A. Zhanasova's successful career path is due to her desire to improve her knowledge in the field of exact sciences – she could master the annual program in mathematics and physics in just one school term.
Numerous victories at school Olympiads in physics and mathematics, as well as prizes at the national level, were a great start for the young girl. After the Republican specialized physics and mathematics secondary boarding school named after O. Zhautykov, A. Zhanasova entered the UK College on a grant. Then she entered the University of Cambridge, after graduating from which Asel Zhubanyshevna decided to connect her profession with the world of information technology.
Thinking outside the box, striving for achievements and discoveries, increasing efficiency and finding new solutions - these qualities allowed Assel Zhanasova to declare herself as a good professional.
Her record of service includes a number of important and responsible positions. As head of the cybersecurity department, she oversaw the work of a large international company in Brazil, Russia, China, countries in the African region and Europe. While working for a London company, A. Zhanasova developed her own management model, which led to the development of a cybersecurity strategy in all regions.
In 2014, after returning to Kazakhstan, A. Zhanasova worked on a strategy for the development of financial technologies at the National Bank. The next project was a digital development strategy for the whole country. At the Astana International Financial Center, A. Zhanasova was engaged in the digitalization of the judicial system and implementation of e-residency, which facilitates the process of opening a company in Kazakhstan for foreign citizens.
Among the achievements of Assel Zhanasova is also the development of a concept for the development of financial technologies in the entire Central Asian region and the creation of a Fintech Hub. As a result of this productive activity, in 2019 she was listed among 30 Women in FinTech Powerlist – women, who are innovators in the transformation of the financial sector.
Assel Zhubanyshevna is currently engaged in the development of digital trade, e-commerce, promotion of exports of Kazakhstani goods and technical regulation. There are many tasks and goals, but there are also personal aspirations that she implements day after day. The laboratory for artificial intelligence, big data and machine learning in Kazakhstan is not a fiction, but a reality of the near future, A. Zhanasova believes. Managing big data is a response to a time challenge. Young and promising specialists in the digital industry are an achievement of Kazakhstan and the justified hopes of Elbassy, who always supports active and purposeful youth.
In support of the ideas and initiatives of the First President N. Nazarbayev, the Library of Elbassy implements the information project "Uly dala tarlandary".
