In February of this year, a video was released on social media and turned viral. In these shots, a Kostanay policeman rescues a convoy of cars from snow captivity - he runs in front of a stuck convoy of cars and in conditions of zero visibility indicates the direction to drivers along a swept road. The video with the heroic act of a police officer spread on the network and collected dozens of positive comments.
The hero of this video is Amantay Baizhanov, a native of the village of Yershovka, Uzunkol district, Kostanay region. In 1999, the family moved to Kostanay and in the same year, Amantay went to study at secondary school No. 5, after finishing grades 9, he entered the Kostanay Socio-Technical College and in 2011 graduated from the Faculty of Law. After completing military service, he began work in the law enforcement system - first in the Department of the Specialized Security Service, and since 2020 in the Patrol Police Battalion of the Police Department of the city of Kostanay.
During this short period, Lieutenant Baizhanov managed to perform two heroic acts at once. In 2020, Amantay Baizhanov and his colleague Zhanbolat Zhautin, without thinking and without noticing that their clothes were burning and their hands were burned, rescued 15 people from a burning house. And on February 18, 2021, a storm warning was announced on the highways of the Kostanay region due to bad weather. On the Fedorovskaya highway, Amantay Baizhanov and his colleague considered it their duty to escort a convoy of cars entering the city. Visibility was zero, indicating the way, Amantai ran 2 km to the city.
For his heroism, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan awarded A.Bayzhanov the medal "For his contribution to the maintenance of law and order" and the watches with the logo of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. "For bravery, selflessness and heroism displayed in the line of duty", the order on awarding signed by the Minister of Internal Affairs Yerlan Turgumbayev says.
Akim of the Kostanay region noted with letters of thanks not only two policemen, but also their parents, thanking them for the decent upbringing of their sons.
"I am very pleased that the top level of management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Police Department of the Kostanay region appreciated my work. I am proud to have such high awards and promise to continue to serve honestly the cause in which I believe and respect", Amantay said.
A. Baizhanov was announced the winner of the project "100 new personalities of Kazakhstan" in the "Society" nomination. According to the police officer, this was unexpected news for him. He remembers with great pride the official ceremony of the winners of the project in the city of Nur-Sultan and the congratulations of the head of state K. K. Tokayev.
