PRESENTATION OF THE PHOTO ALBUM AND PHOTO EXHIBITION "NIZAMI GANJAVI"

The Museum of the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy hosted the presentation of an art album and the opening of the exhibition "Nizami Ganjavi" dedicated to the 880th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet-philosopher Ilyas Yusif-oglu Nizami (literary pseudonym Ganjavi), organized by the International Organization of Turkic Culture TURKSOY.

The art album includes more than 100 photoreproductions of paintings by famous artists, who created the works based on Nizami's works. In addition, the edition is supplemented with quotations from the poems of the philosopher. This year was declared the Year of Nizami in Azerbaijan. 
"The First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev in his article "Seven Facets of the Great Steppe" wrote: "The people who remember, appreciate, and are proud of their history have a great future." The Library of Elbasy supported the initiative of TURKSOY to present the art album of the great thinker of the Turkic world Nizami Ganjavi. I am sure this work will make a significant contribution to the history, science and cultural legacy of not only the Turkic, but also the world civilization," Director of the Library of Elbasy Bakytzhan Temirbolat said in his welcoming speech.

Nizami Ganjavi, who considered patience the key to all good luck, knew that those in trouble could learn an important lesson in life. Patience is the quality that unknots all knots... "Work hard, rise high, no one has ever been left in trouble," said Nizami, who is very closely associated with Kazakh history and culture. We are glad that every year the work of the great poet-philosopher is increasingly covered in Kazakh literature," said Agalar Atamoglanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan.

The idea of creating an art album "Nizami Ganjavi" belongs to the Secretary-General of TURKSOY D. Kaseinov.
"Each image in the art album has its own story. The edition was published in English so that as many people in the world as possible could read it. We have released similar special books as a series about such great figures as Abai, Olzhas Suleimenov, and Shyngys Aitmatov. Now an album about Alisher Navoi is also being prepared, then Makhtumkuli. TURKSOY aims to highlight the legacy of outstanding figures of the Turkic world. And this work will continue," Dyusen Kaseinov said.
Humanistic ideas, harmonization of relations, social equality, tolerance glorified by Nizami in his iconic poems from the Khamsa ("The Treasury of Mysteries", "Khosrow and Shirin", "Layla and Majnun", "The Seven Beauties", "Iskendername") became a standard of poetic and philosophical thought not only in the East but throughout the world. 

Nowadays, the study of the works of Nizami Ganjavi has expanded significantly, being of interest not only as literary and philosophical works but also from the point of view of sociology, religious studies, psychology, pedagogy and political science. 
In the year of the anniversary of Nizami TURKSOY organized and held large-scale events in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Poland, Kyrgyzstan and a number of other countries.

Last year was also widely celebrated the anniversary of the great Kazakh poet-enlightener Abai   Kunanbayev, who translated into Kazakh one of the last and most important works of Nizami, "Iskender-name". Abai considered Nizami as his "ustaz" - teacher and deeply revered his work.    
The presentation of the art album "Nizami Ganjavi" continued with the viewing of the photo exhibition of the same name. 
The event was attended by representatives of TURKSOY, diplomats, scientists, state and public figures of Kazakhstan and representatives of the media.
