OPENING OF THE VERNISSAGE BY NURZHAN KARYMSAKOV "SON OF THE GREAT STEPPE

A personal exhibition of Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, Member of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurzhan Karymsakov "Son of the Great Steppe" has opened in the Art Gallery of the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy.

The exhibition features 20 of the artist's best paintings, including those that gained fame earlier, as well as those written by him specifically for the current opening day. A large part of the exhibition is occupied by works in the genre of monumental painting, reflecting the main theme in the work of Nurzhan Karymsakov - the historical heritage of Kazakhstan.

Opening the event, Head of the of Service for Registration and Storage of Museum Valuables of the Library of Elbasy Kulayisha Aktayeva noted that the exhibition was organized within the framework of the project of the Library of Elbasy "Cultural Code of Independence" and is dedicated to the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the 30th anniversary of Independence of Kazakhstan.
"Nurzhan Karymsakov is one of the few Kazakhstani artists who knows how to show the viewer the depths of history. In the period from 2000 to 2001, the author created one of his most famous canvases – "El Tutka". After seeing this work, viewers often compete in the knowledge of historical personalities represented on a colorful panel – 117 outstanding figures of Kazakhstan on one canvas. It is not surprising that in a series of monumental works by Karymsakov, images of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, and fundamental ideas inextricably linked with the legacy of Elbasy appear: the closure of the nuclear test site, the relocation of the capital, the formation of new ideas that influenced the architecture of the world," K. Aktayeva said.

Monumentalism has become for the artist a means of expressing a holistic, continuous vision of the historical processes that took place on the territory of Kazakhstan. Individual images and themes become the result of a large-scale vision of historical epochs. Thus the author goes from the general to the particular. The author's skill is manifested in the ability to create an integral plot series by compositional means, from which individual images and events can then be developed.

"Real art excites even the hearts of batyrs. Nurzhan Karymsakov's canvases reflect the heroic image of the Kazakh people, its centuries-old philosophy and rich culture. Therefore, the master's works delight and inspire the older generation, while forming an artistic taste among young people, as well as educating and enriching the younger generation with knowledge," said Halyk Kaharmany, Lieutenant General Bakytzhan Yertayev.

Reflections on the continuity of the stages of the development of statehood on the territory of the Great Steppe elevate the artistic works of N. Karymsakov into the category of deep historical research.
"During my career, I had the honor to meet many outstanding figures of our country. These are not only artists, but also archaeologists, poets, writers, historians. Visiting their workshops, I get incredible experience, in-depth knowledge of the history of our state, from ancient centuries to modern independent Kazakhstan. These important milestones in the history of our people give me an impulse, inspiration. And I am very proud that the current exhibition of my works takes place on the eve of Day of the First President of Kazakhstan. The whole history of Independence and modern Kazakhstan is inextricably linked with the name of Nursultan Nazarbayev," said the author of the works, artist Nurzhan Karymsakov.
