Dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan,
the 60th anniversary of the flight of Yuri Gagarin and
the 30th anniversary of the flight of T. O. Aubakirov into space
Today, on April 12 – on Cosmonautics Day, in the Museum of the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy the opening of the international exhibition "Earth, bow to man!" took place.

Director of the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy Bakhytzhan Temirbolat noted that the exhibition and the program of the event are an outstanding event that confirms the common interests of the post-Soviet countries, whose peoples remember and honor the exploits of the famous space pioneers.
"Today's large-scale project was implemented by the Library of Elbasy in partnership with organizations of Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine. Here are unique documents and exhibits covering a huge period of development of the Great Steppe, which was destined to become the main space harbor of the planet. It is symbolic that the event takes place within the walls of the first working residence of Elbasy in the new capital, because thanks to his political will, Baikonur continues to be of strategic significance, Kazakhstan has created its own space industry and sent its sons to the stars. Speaking about the contribution of our country to the development of world cosmonautics, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that "Baikonur is a symbol of the exploration of outer space by mankind", B. Temirbolat stressed.

The title of the exhibition conveys the emotional uplift that was characteristic of citizens of all countries of the world associated with the beginning of the cosmic era of mankind, embodied in the famous poem by Olzhas Suleimenov "Earth, bow to man!." The poem became the leitmotif of a large-scale exhibition. During the opening of the exhibition, the author of the poem, Hero of Labor of Kazakhstan, People's Writer of the Kazakh SSR Olzhas Suleimenov addressed the audience online and shared his memories about the history of the poem and the day of the legendary flight of Yuri Gagarin into space.
"On April 12 in the morning in the newspaper, my poem «Earth, bow to man!» and thousands of colorful leaflets fell from the sky in Almaty, with this poem dedicated to Yuri Gagarin... I remember only two such moments when all the people were on the streets - it was May 9, 1945, and April 12, 1961. All of humanity was united by one feeling of delight, happiness, and hope for the future. On the waves of this mood, I continued the poem, creating a whole poem in a week", O. Suleimenov shared, then he read a small excerpt from the poem.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Kazakhstan Alexey Borodavkin. In his speech, he stressed that the organizers of the exhibition have done a very big and important work, presenting the achievements in the field of cooperation between our countries in the space industry to the Kazakhstan audience.

"The launch of the first manned spacecraft Vostok and further exploration of outer space began from the Kazakh land at the Baikonur cosmodrome. The first cosmonaut of Kazakhstan Tokhtar Aubakirov, the 30th anniversary of whose flight we also celebrate this year, started from here. Like him, the names of two other Kazakh heroes, space explorers – Talgat Musabayev and Aydin Aimbetov are inscribed in the history of world cosmonautics... Without a doubt, the project "Earth, bow to man!" should be considered one of the clear illustration of the dynamic development of Russian-Kazakhstan relations in the humanitarian sphere", A. Borodavkin said.

The exhibition consists of three thematic sections: "Shore of the Earth", "Earth. Baikonur Cosmodrome", "Earth. The time of the first". The main part of it is located in the unique Dome Hall of the former residence, a historical space where interstate summits were held, including on space exploration issues.
Employees of the National Museum of Cosmonautics named after S. P. Korolev in Zhytomyr, Ukraine, addressed the organizers of the event with a video greeting on the Day of Cosmonautics: "Ukraine has become the birthplace of Sergei Korolev, and Kazakhstan is the place of practical realization of his dreams. Our countries share a common history, a history of space achievements. Let it become the basis for future scientific and cultural cooperation, as well as for strengthening friendly ties between our peoples", Alla Lekteva said.
Hero of the Soviet Union, pilot-cosmonaut of the USSR Alexander Laveykin also addressed Kazakhstanis in a video message on behalf of the Gagarin Cosmonautics Museum in Moscow: "Dear friends, when I flew to the Mir station with the expedition commander Yuri Romanenko, we looked at our Earth a lot. There are, of course, a lot of beautiful places. But the most beautiful are your places, your nature, and, of course, your people".

The musical and poetic composition "Earth, bow to man!" performed by the artists of the State Opera and Ballet Theater "Astana Opera" and the State Academic Russian Drama Theater named after M. Gorky gave a special solemnity to the event.
It is worth noting that the process of preparation and implementation of the international exhibition has become an example of common historical memory and respect for universal human values. The Library of Elbasy expresses great gratitude to its partners:

FOR REFERENCE:
The international exhibition "Earth, bow to man!" consists of three thematic sections:
Part I. "Shore of the Earth»
The materials of the first part of the exhibition "Earth, bow to man!" allow you to travel to the past of the land of Kazakhstan, which became the place of the launch of humanity into space – SHORE OF THE EARTH. Of all the diversity and richness of the history of the regions of Kazakhstan, three are represented: Kyzylorda, Aktobe and North Kazakhstan regions, which are directly related to the history of the Baikonur cosmodrome, to the biography of Soviet cosmonauts who came from Kazakhstan. The history and development of all stages of the Kazakh statehood, economic structures is illustrated by the archaeological survey of these regions.
The main vectors of the development of the scientific, technical, industrial and agricultural potential of these three regions are an eloquent illustration of the competitiveness of the national economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which implements ambitious innovative projects.

Part II. "Earth. Baikonur Cosmodrome»
The second part of the exhibition "Earth, bow to man!" is dedicated to the history of the Baikonur cosmodrome – a real monument of human thought. The launch of the first artificial Earth satellite, the flight of the first man into space, the launches of manned spacecraft of the Vostok, Voskhod, and Soyuz series, the Salyut and Mir series of orbital stations, the Energy – Buran reusable system, interplanetary spacecraft, and modern artificial Earth satellites - all this took place from the sites of the famous cosmodrome. The video installation "First Start" and multimedia display facilities allowed for the first time to present a large volume of photos of cities in Kazakhstan, made with the help of modern artificial Earth satellites.
Part III. "Earth. Time of the first"

The apotheosis of the international exhibition "Earth, bow to man!" is the third part of it "Earth. Time of the first", presented in the "Dome" Hall. The materials of the exhibition tell about the history of the first breakthroughs of scientific thought, the chronicle of the very first, and therefore the most important steps of humanity in outer space, about the heroism of the first cosmonauts of the world and Kazakhstan. Special attention should be paid to the unique archival materials associated with the names of S. P. Korolev, Yu. A. Gagarin, V. V. Tereshkova, P. I. Belyaev and A. A. Leonov, as well as personal belongings of cosmonauts V. A. Shatalov, V. I. Patsaev, and A. S. Viktorenko.
The capsule with a handful of the land of Baikonur, the National Flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Koran and other objects with deep symbolism, which were in space together with Kazakhstan cosmonauts, are the pride of the museum collection of the Library of Elbasy, and, along with archival materials, tell about the flights of Kazakhstan cosmonauts T. O. Aubakirov, T. A. Musabayev, A. A. Aimbetov. An important part of the exhibition is devoted to the current stage of development of the Kazakhstan space industry.
Interactive Public Program
On the basis of the exhibition from the moment of its opening until the end of May this year, an Interactive Public Program will be implemented, which will include live online broadcasts in social networks with partners of the exhibition, thematic excursions, museum lessons, sessions of showing archival video chronicles.
