OPENING OF THE EXHIBITION OF CREATIVE WORKS OF THE PARTICIPANTS OF THE CONTEST "RED BOOK THROUGH THE EYES OF CHILDREN"

 Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted the opening of an exhibition and a solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the republican children's and youth environmental drawing competition "The Red Book through the Eyes of Children", organized jointly with the Children's Art School - UNESCO Club in Astana.

          The exhibition is dedicated to the World Red Book Day and is aimed at forming a responsible and kind attitude towards nature among the younger generation, familiarizing them with understanding the environmental problems of our time, studying the Red Book of Kazakhstan.

          In his welcoming speech, Director of the Library of the First President Bakytzhan Temirbolat stressed that now more than ever it is important to cultivate in society the values ​​of environmental consciousness based on understanding the need for our development in harmony with the environment: “It is gratifying that the younger generation is fully aware of the importance of careful attitude to nature. Today's exhibition is evidence of this. The bright, talented artworks presented on it demonstrate how deeply the guys imbued and immersed themselves in this burning topic.

          In turn, director of the UNESCO Children's Art School-Club of Astana Isenova Gulziya, congratulating the finalists and thanking the organizers of the event, noted that the current competition was very rich, a large number of works came to it, which indicates the relevance of the topic of ecology in modern realities.

          The competition was attended by organizations of additional education in the artistic direction from different regions of Kazakhstan. Age of participants is from 6 to 18 years. The main topics of the competition are: “Forever in response” (endangered species of flora and fauna of the Republic of Kazakhstan) and “Our attention and care” (species of flora and fauna that require constant monitoring, observation with a view to their possible inclusion in the Red Book in the future).

          The works were evaluated by a competent jury from among the members of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, artists and honored artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

          The Grand Prix of the republican drawing competition "Red Book through the Eyes of Children" went to participants from Astana (Kaminskaya Karina) and Ust-Kamenogorsk (Valeria Kaverzina).

          The 50 best works selected by the jury were presented at the exhibition.

          The exhibition will run until March 28, 2023.
