THE NEW BUILDING OF THE ELBASSY LIBRARY MUSEUM BEGINS ITS WORK

The Museum of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan has started its work in a new building on the left bank area of the capital.

The activity of this Museum goes beyond the traditional display of the biography of one person, following the example of American or European museums of former presidents. Here, visitors and researchers are attracted by the broad context of the era of building an independent state.

The Museum has new opportunities for implementing cultural and educational tasks. The museum, archival and book collections of the Library of Elbassy is concentrated in the building, which will allow continuing great work on spiritual and moral, patriotic education and formation of value systems of modern Kazakhstan youth.

One of the main goals of the Library of Elbassy is the gradual transformation of the institution into a large-scale center, where a creative environment is formed in the coworking format to implement a variety of aesthetic and intellectual requests.

All unique exhibits, which are the heritage of the people, are housed in spacious halls and are now accessible to more Kazakhstanis and foreign guests. The museum space makes it possible to organize exhibitions in the capital of Kazakhstan of the world’s largest museums and art galleries of Europe and Asia.

Interactive reading rooms, a coworking center, temporary exhibition areas, and a large multifunctional hall that can host not only representative forums and conferences but also large-scale exhibition projects form an open culture and communication platform for all categories of the population.

In the technical arsenal of the tour, consisting of 7 sections, there are installations, holographic compositions in 3D format, emaps, mapping shows, touch-monitors, media desks and more.

An important stage in the activity of the Library of Elbassy, with the opening of the new museum space, has begun in full compliance with the established anti-epidemiological measures.  The location and area of the exhibition halls allow maintaining the social distance of visitors.

The first visitors of the new Museum building – representatives of the city community – were welcomed by Head of the Office of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbassy Makhmud Kassymbekov and Director of the institution Amerkhan Rakhimzhanov.

Guided tours are conducted in groups of no more than 10 people at 15-minute intervals. All visitors are free to visit the Museum’s exhibitions and temporary exhibitions, according to the established schedule of work (all days of the week, except Monday, from 9.00 to 18.00, without a lunch break, free of charge).

Interactive reading rooms and a coworking center are ready to receive their guests at the next stages of easing quarantine measures.
