MORE THAN FOUR THOUSAND PEOPLE VISITED THEMATIC TOURS OF THE LIBRARY OF ELBASSY

From 14 to 24 January, the Library of Elbassy hosted a decade of thematic excursions, which were attended by students of the capital's schools, universities, military, and civil servants. Within ten days, 72 sightseeing and 70 thematic tours were organized. The number of visitors in both buildings of the Library - the museum in the former residence of the First President of Kazakhstan and the Nazarbayev Center - these days amounted to 4100 people.

The main purpose of thematic tours is to promote creative ideas and initiatives of N. Nazarbayev. Each exhibit, whether it is an archive document, photo or book, is part of the history of Kazakhstan. In this regard, it is important that the decade has an educational mission. In the course of the tours, students get rich information about the history of the country's independence, biography, and activities of the First President - Elbassy.

"Leader recognized by the world", "N. Nazarbayev - the leader of the global anti-nuclear movement", "In the heart of Eurasia", "Baiterek - the center for peace and harmony", "Award to the President - gratitude to the people" - the topics that received the greatest response from visitors.

Interesting facts about the formation of the capital, its history are told by archival photos and documents with personal notes of Elbassy. The study of various options for the best location of the capital of Kazakhstan started in 1994. 32 criteria were defined that the new main city of the country should meet. Among them are socio-economic indicators, climate, landscape, seismic conditions, environment, availability, and prospects of development of engineering and transport infrastructure, communications, and others. The analysis showed that Akmola is the most preferred of all options.

Visitors also learned many historical facts about the anti-nuclear movement and the contribution of N. Nazarbayev to the cause of world security.  The history and consequences of the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site leave no one indifferent. This "experience" became a national tragedy. 456 nuclear tests were carried out at the test site, the total capacity of which was 2.5 thousand times higher than the capacity of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945.

For schoolchildren and students, the hall of "Sports glory of Kazakhstan" is especially important. This tour allows you to arouse interest in the sport in the young generation, the desire for self-fulfillment, and most importantly, to strengthen the patriotic spirit among young people. In addition, various quests and quizzes about unique exhibits are held here - winning trophies of famous Kazakhstani and foreign athletes.

A decade in the Library of Elbassy is over, but tours in both its buildings continue. We remind you that all tours of the Library of Elbassy are free. Group tours are booked in advance on the official website. http://www.presidentlibrary.kz/ru.
