On April 28, the Library of Elbasy held a meeting "El Umitin er aktar", dedicated to the upcoming holidays - Defender of the Fatherland Day and Victory Day, with the participation of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Yermekbayev, Head of the National Defense University named after the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy Sultan Kamaletdinov, Lieutenant-General Bakhytzhan Yertayev, Colonel-General Saken Zhasuzakov, Lieutenant-General Abai Tasbolatov, Lieutenant-General Nikolai Pospelov, Lieutenant-General Murat Maikeev, Rear-Admiral Ratmir Komratov, Major-General Vladimir Shatskov, Major-General Muslim Dairov, Major-General Zhientai Sandybayev, Major-General Gennady Nosonovsky, Major-General Uali Elamanov.
Cadets of higher military educational institutions, the military personnel of military units of Kazakhstan, Cadet Corps of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan and participants of the children's and youth military-patriotic movement "Zhas Sarbaz" joined the meeting via videoconference.
- It is also symbolic that our meeting takes place in the meeting room of the Security Council, where during the first residence chaired by the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev meetings of the Security Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan were held. On the eve of two significant holidays – Defender`s Day and Great Victory Day, we are all here once again to pay tribute to the heroic sons and daughters of the motherland who have chosen a profession - to serve the Fatherland, ensuring its safety and security. As President of Kazakhstan K. K. Tokayev said: "The best traditions of the Kazakhstan army are a natural continuation of the heroism of our ancestors, who courageously defended their native land, as well as the unparalleled feats of the participants of the Great Patriotic War. The military personnel successfully demonstrate their combat training and fortitude even today, reliably defending the Independence of Kazakhstan", Bakytzhan Temirbolat, Director of the Library of Elbasy, said in his welcoming speech.
- It is symbolic that Defender`s Day is celebrated on the eve of the Great Victory Day. This speaks of the continuity of the military traditions of the winners of the Great Patriotic War and the current generation of defenders of our Motherland. Young defenders have a lot to learn from you, veterans of the Armed Forces: courage, perseverance, patience, professionalism, love for the Motherland and many other remarkable human and professional qualities, said in his speech Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Lieutenant-General Nurlan Yermekbayev, thanking the management of the Library of Elbasy for the opportunity and initiative to hold this event, emphasizing the role of the Library in covering the events of the modern history of Kazakhstan and patriotic education of young people.
– This year we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of our Independence. From the first day of its proclamation, my colleagues, the generals sitting here, who were then captains and majors, fell into line with the first Minister of Defense of independent Kazakhstan – hero of the Great Patriotic War Sagadat Nurmagambetov under the leadership of our First President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev. We, young guys at that time, were entrusted with divisions and regiments, we worked in the most difficult time. But we did not look back, believing in the future of our country. Together with the country, with the people, we went to these glorious victories and achievements. Many thanks to the Library of Elbasy and the Ministry of Defense for organizing the meeting of veterans of the Armed Forces and that this event is held here, in this memorable hall for all of us", said Lieutenant-General, Halyk Kakharmany Bakhytzhan Yertayev.
- Young people, as the most active part of society, are its driving force, the support of the state. This is the future of the country. The desire of the young generation for knowledge, creativity and the desire to contribute to the development of the country will be the key to a bright future. Following the high moral examples of the lives of great people who were and are the pride of the nation, its spiritual guide, we must be at the forefront of the era and measure not the strength of muscles, but the strength of knowledge", said Dias Maulenberdiev, a pupil of the children's and youth military-patriotic movement "Zhas Sarbaz".
The participants of the meeting discussed topical issues of the military-political strategy of Kazakhstan, the formation of a new image of the army, in accordance with the requirements of the Military Doctrine of the country and the heroic pages of the military history of the country.
In the course of the event, the guests were shown a video "The role of Elbasy N. A. Nazarbayev in the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan" and a tour of the expositions of the museum of the Library of Elbasy was held.
