"Thanks to the organizers of the event, who brought us together on the day when the new capital of Kazakhstan was announced. It is very pleasant, as a former employee of the Akimat of the city, of the first team of the mayor of the city, to come here, to the Library of Elbasy. I was very glad to see dear and familiar faces. The city today has become unrecognizable, beautiful, high, modern. Working for the benefit of the capital, we have always felt the full support of Elbasy," said Sansyzbai Yesilov, who was the first deputy Akim of the capital in 1997-2000, and is now the Chairman of the Veterans Organization.
"I was lucky enough to participate in this large-scale construction from the very beginning. I saw how it all started, I saw what lay underground, above the ground. I built, acted as a customer, managed it. And today I have big gratitude to everyone who participated in this process. These are wonderful people, builders, true patriots of their country," said Sergey Fomichev, who was deputy Akim of the Saryarka district in 2001-2002, then deputy Akim of the capital.
The First Deputy General Director of "Eurasia+ORT" LLP Svetlana Dzhalmagambetova, who also stood at the origins of the formation of the main city of the country, shared her memories:
"After the collapse of the Soviet Union, many experts predicted a complete collapse of Kazakhstan, saying it had a weak economy, there were many nationalities, which, in their opinion, should have certainly quarrelled among themselves. But contrary to all forecasts, it was precisely here, in Kazakhstan, that peace and harmony were established, the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan was created. Thanks to Elbasy, from the first days there was a strong belief in the future and today Kazakhstan is a stable state, authoritative on the international scene, and Nur-Sultan became known all over the world".
During the event, the guests saw expositions dedicated to the history of the formation and development of the capital - photographs, documents, video chronicles and other unique exhibits from the museum, archival and library collections of the Library of Elbasy.
