The Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a literary hour from the cycle “From the history of one book”, dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the outstanding Kazakh writer, playwright and scientist Mukhtar Auezov and the 80th anniversary of his epic novel “Abai Zholy”.

The event was attended by teachers and students of the school-gymnasium No. 77 named after F. Ongarsynova, Astana.

The aim of the project is to highlight memorable and significant dates that are inextricably linked with the history, culture and literature of Kazakhstan, using the Library's book stock, to familiarize the younger generation with the creative heritage of the classics of Kazakh literature and attract new readers.

“Today we discussed the great work of Mukhtar Auezov, his famous novel “Abai Zholy”, exchanged views on the popularization of Kazakh classics among the younger generation. I am sure that in the future we will continue to hold similar joint events aimed at improving the education and culture of young people”,- said the teacher of school-gymnasium No. 77 named after F. Ongarsynova, candidate of philological sciences Bauyrzhan Imangali.

“The work “Abai Zholy” is already 80 years old, and it does not lose its relevance. As part of the literary hour, along with a lecture on the life and work of M. Auezov, a thematic quiz, a presentation of the resources of the reading room (book fund) and a tour of the Library Museum were also organized.
