THE LIBRARY OF ELBASY OPENED THE EXHIBITION "PRESIDENTIAL POWER IN KAZAKHSTAN AT THE TURN OF EPOCHS"

On April 21, 2022, at the Nazarbayev Center, the exhibition “Presidential power in Kazakhstan at the turn of epochs” dedicated to the Day of establishment of the institute of presidency in Kazakhstan opened.

The exhibition is organized by the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy within the framework of the scientific exposition project "Kazakhstan's way", the purpose of which is to demonstrate the most important achievements of the republic over the years of independence.

On April 24, 1990, at the first session of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR of the 12th convocation, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev was elected the first president in the history of Kazakhstan.

"Our exhibition today is special, for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 we are opening an exhibition in the building of the Nazarbayev Center, renewing the established tradition of holding socially significant events within its walls. During its existence, the institute of presidency has proved its viability, in fact becoming the core of the political system and the "locomotive" of society's modernization. A huge role in this, of course, was played by the personality of the First President of sovereign Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. Today, the institute of presidency continues to play a leading role in the life of Kazakhstan society. In his Message to the people of Kazakhstan “New Kazakhstan: the path of renewal and modernization”, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev outlined large-scale reforms to radically transform almost all spheres of society. The strategy of “New Kazakhstan” declared by him opens up long-term prospects for successful and stable development for our country. Our today's exhibition tells about all this", - noted the Director of the Elbasy Library Bakhytzhan Temirbolat.

The institute of presidency in Kazakhstan has become an important component of the democratic modernization of society and state policy, and also a necessary element of trust and dialogue with foreign partners in the field of strengthening international security.

"The facts, documents and photographs presented at this exhibition reflect the most important moments for our people on the way of gaining the right to self-determination. The First President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev stood at the origins of these historical moments. The works of domestic and foreign authors located here clearly demonstrate the tremendous work done in the country since the implementation of the institute of presidency. The upcoming process of renewal of all spheres of society, voiced by the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, is natural. Renewal is not a rejection of the past, it is a desire for progress and prosperity based on what has been achieved, taking into account new realities. Let our country, aspiring to the future, be only bright!", - said the statesman and public figure of Kazakhstan Kuanysh Sultanov.

The collection materials from the Library and the Personal Archive of Elbasy are presented in two thematic sections:

I.         “Kazakhstan model of the institute of presidency” – the evolution of presidential power as the core of public administration system of Kazakhstan;

II.        “New challenges. New Kazakhstan” – materials reflecting the development of the institution of presidency in the new international and domestic political realities, as well as the strategic initiatives of the President of the country K.K.Tokayev to ensure internal, regional and global security.
