LECTURE FOR STUDENTS ON THE NATIONAL CURRENCY DAY

Today, a lecture "Tenge is a symbol of our independence" was organized in the Library of Elbasy for students of the Multidisciplinary College and students of grades 7-8 of schools No. 3 and No. 10 of Nur-Sultan. The audience got acquainted with the history of monetary circulation in Kazakhstan, the stages of creation and the introduction of the national currency – tenge.

"In the thirty-year chronicle of independent Kazakhstan, the appearance of its own currency is a special chapter. Tenge formed the basis of an independent economic policy and became a key stage on the path of market transformations. With the introduction of the national currency, the country gained financial freedom. Today, tenge is the economic basis of independence, an important symbol of sovereignty, a full-fledged part of modern history and Kazakhstan's future," researcher of the Service for Social, Humanitarian and Educational Projects Dametken Kushunova said during the lesson.

Schoolchildren and students learned about the recognition of the Kazakh monetary unit on the international market and that foreign experts rightfully consider the tenge to be one of the most reliable and stable currencies in the CIS and Central Asia.

During the lesson, archival photo and video materials from the collections of the Museum of the Library of Elbasy were used.
