A lecture "State symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan" was held in the Elbasy Library Museum for students of the eight grade of the Gymnasium No. 4 in Nur-Sultan. The students learned about the history of the adoption of the main symbols of the independent state: the flag, national emblem and anthem, as well as about their creators.
On June 4, 1992, the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A.Nazarbayev signed the laws "On the State Flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan", "On the State Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan" and "On the musical edition of the National Anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan".
On the basic duty of citizens, on the purpose and importance of state symbols for each citizen of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev said: "The duty of each of us is to appreciate and respect the flag, national emblem, and anthem of our republic. They fill us with a sense of pride for our country. With them, we feel like one inseparable family. They make us known, recognized and welcomed around the world."
During the event, the children saw archival photo and video materials from the collections of the Library of Elbasy. The purpose of the lecture is to create conditions for the formation of the younger generation of civil-patriotic personal qualities, as well as respect for the symbols of state power.
"The lecture was held in a lively atmosphere because there was an exchange of views. Our students shared with the lecturer their knowledge about the history of Kazakhstan, the period of its Independence. It was especially impressive for them that they visited the historic building – the first residence in the capital of the First President of Kazakhstan, saw his office, the halls in which the great history of Independence was being created. Documents, photos, signatures of Elbasy, his notes are very valuable for consolidating students' knowledge of the history of their homeland," shared the teacher of the school-gymnasium Sharban Kuderina.
