The Leader of the Nation Library held “Dialogue for peace and creation” Forum of Intellectuals of Kazakhstan and Russia.

March 30, 2015 the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Leader of the Nation was held forum of intellectuals of Kazakhstan and the Russia - "Dialogue for Peace and Creation", organized by "Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan", Center of Analytical Research "Eurasian monitoring" (Kazakhstan), political science center "Sever -Yug" (Russian Federation), the Development Fund "Institute of Eurasian Studies" (Russian Federation) with support of the state institution "Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Leader of the Nation".

Deputies of the Majilis of Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan attended the forum, heads of non-governmental sector, academics, representatives of veterans and youth organizations, as well as deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, journalist and political scientist M.L. Shevchenko, member of Public Chamber of the Russian Federation G.V. Fedorov, Executive Director of the Political Science Center "Sever-Yug" Y.V. Yakushev, department professor of World Politics, MSU of M.V. Lomonosov A.S. Barsenkov, Dean of Philological Faculty of RUDN Victor Barabash and other representatives of scientific, educational, and social spheres of the Russian Federation.

Participants of the meeting discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation between the civil institutions and development of joint projects in various spheres of social activity. One of the most important issues of the forum, which caused debate, has become a trend to falsify historical events of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, and attempts to revise its outcome. Also discussed the subject of preparation for the International Forum of Winners "Great Victory mined unity", which will be held on April 28 in Moscow.

Under the forum, held a conference "The memory of the Great Patriotic War - the basis of generations’ dialogue."

Head of "Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan" Nurlan Erimbetov, opening forum, noted:

- 2015 for the CIS countries is primarily associated with the anniversary of the Great Victory, so the first meeting of the Forum of Intellectuals of two brotherly countries, devoted to discussion of the various aspects related to the Great Patriotic War. Questions to counter the falsification of history, establishment of joint research papers and books of history of the Great Patriotic War, patriotic education of youth on the example of veterans, who are also taking part in our meeting today. One of the most important tasks of the Forum of Intellectuals of Kazakhstan and Russia – to create an objective and positive public opinion in our countries for the development of integration projects, including humanitarian sphere.

We expect that the presence of deputy corps and government agency of two countries at the forum, will allow in short period move from words to deeds. That is, to realize those large-scale projects, which representatives of the civil societies of the two countries forms - said N. Erimbetov.

Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Baglan Mailybaev, in his speech, drew attention to the symbolism of holding Forum in the year of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan and the 20th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, adding that a reliable pillar of the Kazakh-Russian cooperation is the Eurasian Economic Union.

Andrey Tumanov, deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation in his speech said:

- In the Duma, we have carefully studied the reforms of Nursultan Nazarbayev. We have almost the same tasks. Construction of civil society, which we have and you have, still not strong enough, administrative reforms, and many other things, will allow our country to become strong. And when we keep friendship, exchange students, trade, share technology, and most importantly – share experience, because to do everything good at once - never get well, if we learn from each other, then it will be even stronger.

The forum participants noted, because of wise policy of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan is developing successfully as an economically strong and politically stable country, implemented a unique model of interethnic and interconfessional harmony, every year authority of Kazakhstan is growing in the international arena.

Forum member, Adil Kaukenov, head of the Geopolitics Service and Regional Research of Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Leader of the Nation, stressed the importance of the event:

- Today is a historic event. Partnership between our countries is very important for the future. Kazakhstan and Russia are economic partners and allies. Through these joint meetings we discuss problematic issues of society and find ways to solve them. It is very important today.

At the end, declaration was signed on establishment of the Forum of Intellectuals of Kazakhstan and Russia, as a permanent platform for dialogue.
