The Leader of the Nation Library celebrates its first birthday

The Leader of the Nation Library celebrates the first anniversary of its activities. The corresponding decree on its establishment, President signed in March 13, 2014. On this occasion there was held a solemn meeting, chaired by the acting director of the SI "Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Leader of the Nation" Mahmoud Kasymbekov.

Opening the event M. Kasymbekov stressed, that the creation of a presidential library has become a significant event in the social life of Kazakhstan. "In fact, in our country was born the new Kazakh tradition, which is based on international best practices and is aimed at strengthening the institution of the presidency, which has played a huge role in the modernization of Kazakhstan society" - he said.

The heart of the library - it's her funds. At present, we have managed to collect more than 40,000 books, over 700 photos, video, audio, and traditional documents from the personal archive of the Head of State, as well as about 100 thousand various exhibits, that reflect the life and political activity of Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The library has already arranged a number of excursion for capital visitors from regions of Kazakhstan and official delegations from foreign countries, including top officials - President of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, as well as the Prince of Monaco.

"The mission of the Leader of the Nation Library not be restricted to operating library and archive service or exhibition activity." – M. Kasymbekov stressed.

The key aspects of work – scientific and analytical support for the president's work schedule, as well as the implementation of the ideological and social activities in support of the strategic initiatives of the Head of State.

Among such events carried out in the past year is: Republican "round tables", entitled "Ideas Changing the World" with covering more than 5,000 teachers, Film Week "Tungysh-first", the presentation of multi-volume collection of selected speeches of Nursultan Nazarbayev, published in the Kazakh language, the book "Our President" and other socially significant projects.

At present, number of books about the country's first president, prepared under the Library, published in English, Chinese, German, Arabic, Turkish, Hungarian, Russian. Their presentations were held in London, Beijing, Berlin, Dubai, Istanbul, Budapest, aroused great interest among the public in these countries.

Library carried out a huge work in development of international cooperation. Thus, a Memorandum of cooperation was signed, between the Library of the First President and German Friedrich Ebert Foundation – the first German Reich-President. A similar memorandum signed with the Chinese Academy of Contemporary International Relations. In total, last year alone, library established fruitful contacts with 32 well-known scientific centers and "think tanks" of the US, China, Japan, India, the European Union, Central Asia and the Caucasus.

At the conclusion of event, workers who have made a great contribution to the Library were awarded with letters of thanks on behalf of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
