INFORMATION LETTER

On August 24, 2009 the Museum of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan conducts an international scientific-practical conference «Modern Museum: Science. Traditions. Innovations». During the conference, there will be the work of the sections in the following areas: • Innovative forms of scientific exposition and stock-excursion activity. • Update of research in the modern museum practice. • Museum educational programs as a factor of influence on the moral foundation and spiritual development of the person. The conference is dedicated to 5th anniversary of the museum and is aimed at enhancing of communication between museums and science centres, the association of academic and museum community. During the conference is invited to discuss issues related to the development of museums at the present stage, their scientific and educational potential; interactive and information technologies in the museum practice; museum pedagogy; new working forms with the visitors. Conference languages – are Kazakh, Russian and English. All costs of conference participants from other regions are made by directing party. It is necessary to give application until 1st of May, 2009 to enable report in the conference. In the application you should indicate your full name, degree, rank, position, organization, contact addresses, the theme of the report. The texts of the reports are accepted until June 1st, 2009. Please observe the following requirements to the text: - The size is no more than 6 pages in Microsoft Word 7.0 through 1.5 spaced, size 12; - Paragraph - 3 digits, margins: top and bottom - 20 mm, left - 30 mm, right - 15 mm; - Name of the author, the name of the organization - in the right corner; - Title of the report in capital letters placed below the centre; - Indent of the paragraph is set automatically and the quotes - «». As mentioned dates of Age are indicated in Roman numerals, years - in Arabic; - A footnote - at the end of the text: 1. Nazarbaev N.A. On August 24, 2009 at the Museum of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Contemporary Museum: Science. Tradition. Innovation». It was realized in the limits of Scientific program “Political initiatives of the first President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the becoming and development of the independent state” (2007-2009) Organizers of the conference were the Museum of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the People's Democratic Party «Nur Otan», Fund of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The conference was directed to enhancing communication between museums and science centres, combining of academic and museum community. During conference was held the work of the sections in the following directions: • Innovative forms of scientific-fund and exposition-excursion activity. • Actualization of scientific researches in the contemporary museum practice. • Museum educational programs as the influence factor on moral bases and spiritual development of the person. During the conference there were discussed actual questions associated with the development of the museums at present days, their scientific and educational potential, interactive and informational technologies in the museum practice, museum pedagogic, new types of work with the visitors. On the results of the conference there was issued a collection of materials of scientific practical conference «Contemporary Museum: Science. Tradition. Innovation».

Recommendations to the International scientific-practical conference “Contemporary museum: Science. Traditions. Innovations”

At the conference were represented 99 reports, 70 scientists and practices from Kazakhstan and foreign states made a speech. They are specialized in the sphere of the museum management studies and work, history, philosophy and culture. The participants of the conference noted that conference would make a new impulse as for the development of the native museum management studies so for the development of the international relations in the sphere of the culture. The participants of the conference noted a high level of the reports, actuality of the problems and questions, interest and active exchange of opinions. So they recommended the following: 1. To the Ministry of culture and information of the Republic of Kazakhstan: • To render further assistance in studying and diffusion of the international and native practice in the sphere of the museum work development. In the limits of this activity to organize the work of the museum employees professional development centre of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the base of the certification courses; • To renew the work of the Museums directors Council, which ensure the introduction of the innovation technologies in the museums for creation of single information space of Kazakhstan museums’ history-cultural values; • To begin the work for formation of contemporary normative base for registration and storage of the museum values, corresponding to the newest information technologies and technical resources. To form a work group from the representatives of the museum community on the suggestion of the Museums directors Council; • To form in the limits of the work of the Ministry of Culture and Information of RK scientific-editorial and expert advice on the implementation of the state order publications relevant scientific, methodological and information materials on the activities of the museums in Kazakhstan and partnership projects; • To consider the possibility of organizing an annual exchange activities at the international and national level staff of the museum to highlight areas of theoretical and practical aspects of the introduction of innovative technologies and techniques in various areas of the museum work. 2. To the Ministry of Education and Science of RK, scientific and educational institutions: • To consider the possibility of full use the experience of museum education centres in the upbringing of the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism and civic responsibility, respect for the national cultures and tolerance. 3. To the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan: • to begin the work on the introduction of educational standards for the preparation of narrow specialists for the museum sector, in particular for the restoration of the museum fund; • to resume participation of the museum institutions in the preparation of specialists for the museum sphere by organizing and conducting specialized practice. 4. To the Museum institutions: • Actively use the information, digital and other innovative technologies to preserve, display and promotion of historical and cultural values; • Jointly work out new methods of outreach, educational and expositional activities through the Internet; • actively implement in the activities of the museums the partnerships as a means of enhancing the museum's communications, increasing the number of the museums visitors that promote the image of the museum and performing educational and training objectives. 5. To the organizers of the conference: • To publish a collection of the conference materials.
