Three years ago, on April 3, 2017, in Baku Elbassy Nursultan Nazarbayev was awarded the order of "Heydar Aliyev" for outstanding achievements in the development of friendly relations and cooperation between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. Today, this highest award of Azerbaijan is kept in the Library of Elbassy, in the unique collection of state awards of the First President of Kazakhstan.
The order of "Heydar Aliyev" includes a star, a badge and a chain of orders. The eight-pointed star, the ends of which are made in the form of flower petals, is made of silver. It shows a bas-relief of Heydar Aliyev. The plate is made of 750-carat gold. The medallion is framed by an inner ring, decorated with forty-two diamond stones. The upper part of the middle ring is covered with red enamel, where the words "Heydar Aliyev" are written in gold letters..
The badge of the order "Heydar Aliyev" is made in the form of a quadrangular ornament, to which diamond stones are attached. On the base, there is a quadrangular ornament with diamond stones at the four ends. In the central part of the badge, there is a plate with a bas-relief of Heydar Aliyev. The chain of the order consists of fifteen elements arranged in a certain order. To the right and left of the chain are two decorative plates. In the center - the national flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The chain has a round medallion on which the monogram with the initials of Heydar Aliyev is depicted.
The award ceremony took place during the official visit of Nursultan Nazarbayev to Azerbaijan in April 2017. Presenting the order, President Ilham Aliyev said: "Nursultan Abishevich, you and Heydar Aliyev have been friends and worked together for many years. I remember from my father's stories that we always had a very sincere and close relationship during the Soviet period. And during the period of independence of our countries, you always had a special relationship. Our citizens knew and know this, as do the CIS countries. You two have essentially laid the foundation for bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan."
In turn, Nursultan Nazarbayev thanked Ilham Aliyev for the award and noted the high level of development of Kazakh-Azerbaijani relations. "Kazakhstan will always be near - friendly, trusting, wishing the Azerbaijani people a good future, well-being, and prosperity. Personally, I wish you good health. You will do much more for Your country and for the strong friendship between our countries. And I want our relations to work for the benefit of the two states and peoples," Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
