The opening of the Hall of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbassy N.Nazarbayev took place today at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The event dedicated to Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is celebrated on December 1, was attended by Director of the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbassy, Doctor of political sciences, Professor Amerkhan Rakhimzhanov, Rector of al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Academician Galym Mutanov, University scientists, representatives of the public and the media.
The participants of the event got acquainted with the work of the Global Hub of the UN Program "Academic Impact" on sustainable development, which is headed by the KazNU named after al-Farabi, the historical and artistic complex "Mangilik El", which includes the Al-Farabi Museum, the Halls of the First President - Elbassy, "Alash ", "Abai", expositions "Seven Facets of the Great Steppe" and "Mangilik El". In addition, the guests got acquainted with the book collection of the Scientific Library of the University, which contains rare editions of the 17th century, including unique manuscripts, samples of Arabic, Chagatai writing.
In his speech, Amerkhan Rakhimzhanov emphasized the role of al-Farabi Kazakh National University as a factory of the country's strongest cadres, cooperating with more than 300 major universities around the world.
"On October 13, 2009, N. Nazarbayev delivered a lecture "Kazakhstan in the post-crisis world: intellectual breakthrough into the future". The lecture is included in the recently published book "Lectures by the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbassy N. Nazarbayev at the world's leading universities". The Hall is an educational center that contains materials about the history of the formation and strengthening of the country's independence, headed by the First President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. The legacy of Elbassy is the fundamental basis for the future of our homeland. Coming to this Hall, every student and guest of the University will receive a powerful impetus for self-development. The example of the First President of Kazakhstan serves as a guide in the development of a new generation of strong and ambitious Kazakhstanis", A. Rakhimzhanov said.
In the course of the event, the Library of Elbassy donated 100 books to the University, prepared by the author's team of the Library of Elbassy led by Head of the Office of the Elbassy, Doctor of political science, Professor M. B. Kassymbekov.
Rector of al-Farabi KazNU Galimkair Mutanov thanked the Library of Elbassy for many years of fruitful cooperation and joint work carried out in the creation of the Hall of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the University.
"The value of the Hall is that our undergraduates and doctoral students will be able to work here, there is very important information about the activities of Elbassy and the history of independence of our state. Conferences and forums with the participation of leading scientists will be held here. The collection of materials for the Hall will continue. We thank the Library of Elbassy for the valuable replenishment of our library, new books are the history of independent Kazakhstan, which we are all proud of", G. Mutanov said.
Among the main sources of the Hall collection are books by Elbassy and materials containing historical studies on the first years of Kazakhstan's independence. Photos, paintings, copies of archival documents, printed publications and works, videos about Elbassy, his school and student years, his career and socio-political activities are widely presented.
Special interest for students and scientists is the book "Lectures by the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbassy N. Nazarbayev at the leading universities of the world", published by the Library of Elbassy. It contains lectures by Nursultan Nazarbayev, delivered both at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University and in other universities around the world.
The Hall will be a venue for scientific and practical conferences and seminars, meetings of the expert community, scientists and specialists in the field of culture and education.
