Germany will share secrets of the library science with Kazakhstan

The Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Leader of the Nation and The Friedrich Ebert Foundation signed the memorandum of cooperation. Kazakhstan side was represented by the head of Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the acting director of the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Leader of the Nation Makhmoud Kassymbekov, from the German side there was director of the regional office of The Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Central Asia Peer Teshendorf.

“The Friedrich Ebert Foundation is a German political foundation.  Established in 1925 as the political legacy of Friedrich Ebert, Germany’s first Democratically elected President, it is the one of largest European foundations, which has offices and projects in over 100 countries. In the future interaction between two organizations will open new opportunities for dialogue of expert communities of two countries and further strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Germany. It is planned to organize joint scientific and practical conferences, educational seminars, the edition of books, and carrying out scientific researches on socially significant subjects.” – Makhmud Kassymbekov noted.

The representative of the foundation Peer Teshendorf sure that cooperation will be successful and will bring a lot of benefit. He has noted excellent equipment and rich fund of library: “Our foundation has been working more than 80 years and has a vast experience of cooperation with the different countries. The Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – The Leader of the Nation is important institute which reflecting growth and success of your country. We will be glad to make the modest contribution to development of library”.

After signing of the document Peer Teshendorf presented in gift to library the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan translated to German, and some books published by F. Ebert Foundation.

We will remind that the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Leader of the Nation was founded by the Decree of the Head of state of March 13, 2014 and combines functions of archive, the museum, library and the analytical center.

At present collection of books at the library contains over 40 thousand books and more than 500 exhibits, which is replenished every day. Interactive gallery
