«FORUM OF INTERACTION AND CONFIDENCE»

Today, on October 12 of this year, in the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy, within the framework of the VI meeting of foreign ministers of the CICA member countries, held in Nur-Sultan, the exhibition «Forum of Interaction and Confidence» began its work.  

The event's partner is the CICA Secretariat.

The Conference on Interaction and Confidence-building Measures in Asia is an international forum aimed at cooperation to ensure peace, security and stability in Asia

The idea of convening the CICA was first announced by the First President of Kazakhstan – Elbasy N. A. Nazarbayev at the 47th session of the UN General Assembly, on 5 October 1992.

The Declaration on the Principles Guiding Relations Between the CICA Member States, adopted at the First meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CICA Member States on 14 September 1999 in Almaty and the Almaty Act, adopted at the First summit on 4 June 2002, are the basic documents of the organization. 

The CICA pursues a policy based on the principles of the rule of law, non-interference in the internal affairs of the Member States and economic, social and cultural interaction. All decisions of the organization are taken by consensus.

In order to become a member of this organization, the state must have at least a part of its territory in Asia. Presently, the CICA has twenty-seven Member States accounting for nearly ninety percent of the territory and population of Asia. Nine countries and five international organizations, including the UN, have observer status.

The exhibition "Forum of Interaction and Confidence" features documents and exhibits from the collections of the Library of Elbasy and the CICA Secretariat, which reveal the panorama of the formation and development of the organization's institutions as a unique forum of interaction and trust throughout the largest part of the world.  

Еhe first section of the exhibition is devoted to the history of the formation of the organization and its institutions.

The second section features five dimensions (military-political; new challenges and threats; economic; human and environmental) of CICA activities.     

The exhibition "Forum of Interaction and Confidence", dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's Independence, will last until November 1, 2021.
