The museum of the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbassy, located in the building of the first Residence of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbassy N. Nazarbayev, has reopened its doors to visitors since September 3 this year. Free sightseeing and thematic excursions are held on advance appointments for groups of no more than ten people.
As Director of the Library of Elbassy, Doctor of political sciences, Professor Amerkhan Rakhimzhanov noted, during the quarantine the Library meeting the requirements of the existing conditions switched to a new format of work and communication with the public. Many events planned long before the start of the pandemic were transformed into virtual exhibitions and excursions.
"The Library of Elbassy was closed to the public, but it did not stop its activities. All events have moved to the virtual space. Our special project is a video tour of the exhibition halls of the buildings of the Nazarbayev Center and the museum of the Library of Elbassy. We have prepared a tour dedicated to holidays and memorable dates: Day of State Symbols of Kazakhstan, International Museum Day, International Day against Nuclear Tests, the 30th anniversary of the Institution of Presidency in Kazakhstan and others, as well as sightseeing and thematic tours. All of them are held in Kazakh, Russian and English", A. Rakhimzhanov said, adding that all video tours are available on the official website of the Library of Elbassy in the "VideoGallery" section.
Video exhibitions are also one of the forms of popularization of the extensive collection of the Library of Elbassy, which was actively developed during the quarantine period. Exhibitions are held in various formats: video tours of thematic expositions; videos; traditional electronic format in the form of a presentation in which you can study each fragment of the exhibition in more detail; the exhibition of "One exhibit" was presented for the first time.
The exhibitions "Cradle of national cultures" for the 25th anniversary of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, "Kazakh Soldiers in the battle for Stalingrad" for the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory were presented in a virtual format for the International Museum Day. Unique collections are featured in full: "Eternal glow of silver" (collection of silverwork) and "Harmony of form and pattern" (collection of dishes). In addition, video exhibitions "Memory for the Future" and "Olympic movement in Kazakhstan" were prepared.
"A series of events devoted to the ideas and initiatives of the First President of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev and to Day of the capital was important work. We have prepared virtual exhibitions: "N. Nazarbayev - the architect of Eurasian integration", "The greatest dream of Elbassy", as well as an exhibition from the collection of public awards of the First President of Kazakhstan and the exhibition "N. Nazarbayev: epoch, personality, society" based on the materials of the large-scale traveling exhibition project of the Library of Elbassy", A. Rakhimzhanov added.
In the year of the 175th anniversary of Abai Kunanbayev, a video exhibition "Abai's legacy as a moral guide" was prepared. A video tour of the exhibition "N. Nazarbayev – the leader of the global anti-nuclear movement" was organized for the International Day against Nuclear Tests.
For the first time, the Library of Elbassy featured an exhibition of "One exhibit", which was identified as a unique archival document – "Notes on judicial reform" by Shokan Ualikhanov. This exhibition is dedicated to two memorable dates: the 25th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the 185th anniversary of Shokan Ualikhanov.
The scientific and educational activities of the Library of Elbassy have also moved to the virtual space. Webinars, marathon lessons, video lectures, round tables, and online conferences were held. It is worth mentioning the great interest of the online participants in the new format of training.
– We have been successfully cooperating with the Library of the First President for a long time. Since 2017, our students have participated in the training workshops, which have now moved into the format of webinars. In addition to students, college teachers also attend classes during the summer. Students also take an active part in the events of the Library of Elbassy. We are very happy that in spite of everything, we have the opportunity to continue participating in the scientific and educational projects of the Library of Elbassy", said Ayman Aliyeva, Director of the Management College of Nur-Sultan.
The presentation of the book "The Epoch of Creation" devoted to the establishment and development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the historical role of the First President N. Nazarbayev in the development of statehood took place in an online format.
Online contests were held. Among them is the literary relay "Abai readings", the Republican contest of creative skills of teachers for the best museum lesson "Elіn súıgen Elbasy", the online drawing contest "Atameken" among kindergarten students, as well as the online contest "Uly dalanyń ulyq tulǵasy" for the best essay among schoolchildren of Nur-Sultan, dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of Abu Nasr Al-Farabi.
The Library of Elbassy provides an opportunity for all readers to use the services of a free online library on www.presidentlibrary.kz in the "Library" section ("e-Library"). The book collection includes more than three thousand publications in electronic format.
In addition to what is noted on the website of the Library of Elbassy, there are continuous sections dedicated to outstanding historical figures of the Kazakh people, as well as successful contemporaries who contribute to the development of the state. These projects are: "Máńgіlіk El alyptary", "Uly dala tarlandary", "Code of the nation" and others.
In general, during this period, the number of online visitors of the Library of Elbassy amounted to more than ten thousand Internet users. The fight against the spread of coronavirus infection continues throughout the world. In Kazakhstan, thanks to the measures taken, it was possible to reduce the rate of morbidity. In this regard, respecting all preventive measures for visitors, the museum of the Library of Elbassy on 11 Beibitshilik street is opened for visitors. The museum has all the necessary conditions for a safe visit. In particular, a disinfection corridor has been installed in the foyer of the first floor, stationary sanitizers with a dispenser have been installed, and a mask regime is maintained. The location and area of the exhibition halls allow you to maintain social distancing.
