On 30th March 2015 at the site of the SO “Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Leader of the Nation” in Astana will be held a constituent meeting of the Forum of Intellectuals of Kazakhstan and Russia called "Dialogue for Peace and Creation."
The Forum will be a permanent forum for discussion of current trends in the development of Russia and Kazakhstan in the scientific, economic and social spheres, designed to promote the development of Russian-Kazakh Humanitarian Dialogue.
The main theme of the forum will be the anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The participants will discuss the problem of preservation of objective historical knowledge about the Great Patriotic War and countering attempts at falsification. The forum will host a conference "The memory of the Great Patriotic War - the basis of the dialogue of generations." The Conference will be held on the threshold of the International Forum of Victors "Great Victory attained through being united", which will take place in Moscow on 28th April 2015.
The forum will consider the role of civil institutions of Kazakhstan and Russia in the preservation of common historical memory, as well as in the development of domestic and integration processes in the CIS.
Kazakh side in the forum will be represented by the deputies of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, heads of public and veterans' organizations, the academic community.
From Russian side the following participants will take part in the Forum: the deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation M. A. Shingarkin, journalist and political analyst M. L. Shevchenko, a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation G. V. Fedorov, Executive Director of Political Studies "North-South" Yu. V. Yakusheva, producer of the film "28 Panfilovcev" A. G. Shalopa, professor in the Department of World Politics, Moscow State University named after Lomonosov A.S Barsenkov, other representatives of scientific, educational, and social spheres of Russia.
The forum will adopt a set of recommendations followed by dissemination to state and social structures of the two countries, as well as in the media.
Forum is organized by "Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan", the Center for Analytical Research "Eurasian monitor" (Kazakhstan), political science centers "North-South" (Russian Federation), the Development Fund "Institute of Eurasian Studies" (Russian Federation), with the support of the SO “Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Leader of the Nation”.
Forum will be held on 30th March 2015 (Monday) from 10.00 to 15.00 at 36, Enbekshiler street, Astana, Library of the Leader of the Nation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
