THE FILM LECTURE HALL OF THE LIBRARY OF ELBASSY. WATCHING AND LEARNING

On November 2-3, 2020, students of Astana IT University and Karaganda Industrial University took part in a film lecture organized by the Library of Elbassy.

Leading researcher of the department for social, humanitarian and educational projects Aslan Azerbaev delivered a film lecture "Cinema about the life and work of N. Nazarbayev as a historical source" in the online format.

The new educational format is aimed at popularizing the study of modern history through the viewing of documentaries and feature films dedicated to significant events in the history of sovereign Kazakhstan. With the help of fragments of the films "So the stars have formed" and "The way of the leader. Astana" of the movie epic "The way of the leader" young people learned about the most important stages of the formation of a new young state.

– In higher education institutions of the Republic, students study the course "Modern history of Kazakhstan" regardless of their speciality. Films about the life and work of Elbassy are the most valuable "film textbook" on the history of Kazakhstan of the XX-XXI centuries. These films illustrate the path of the Kazakh people to state independence. Through the films, along with the life and selfless work of N. Nazarbayev, the history of independent Kazakhstan is observed," the lecturer said.

According to A. Azerbaev, the video series helps to supplement knowledge about the history of the country, makes you think about the problems raised in these films, teaches you to reflect, compare the plot of the film with the content of scientific literature.

The participants of the video classes have shared their reviews.

Director of the Department for work with students of Astana IT University Sultan Rakhimzhanov said:

– The lecture was interesting, it is very gratifying that the speaker was always closely connected to the audience, not monotonously reading the report. As for the very essence, I was interested in learning the history of the country and our Elbassy. Fateful decisions in the life of the country were shown in the form of fragments from films, which makes such meetings more intense and vivid, and arouses the desire to watch all films of the epic.

2nd-year student of KarIU Ilya Levchenko:

– I really liked this format of the lecture. Now I am convinced that sometimes it is useful to watch a movie to shore up the information we get from books.
