THE EXHIBITION «CULTURAL HERITAGE OF MY COUNTRY HAS OPENED»

Today, in the Museum of the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy opened an exhibition "Cultural Heritage of my country" following the results of the same name international contest among children and youth of Kazakhstan and Indonesia.

The contest and the final exhibition are organized by the Library of Elbasy, the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Indonesia, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia and the UNESCO Children's Art School in Nur-Sultan.

Director of the Library of Elbasy Bakytzhan Temirbolat addressed the participants of the event with greetings: "The current event is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the 76th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. The exhibition of works by children and youth of our countries fully reflects the cultural cooperation between Kazakhstan and Indonesia, the new generation's understanding of the values of the cultures of the two peoples, the importance of friendly interaction between Kazakhstan and Indonesia as part of the human community. I congratulate all the participants of the contest - the talented young generation of both countries. I wish you all new successes and bright heights in creativity!"

The main objectives of this project are to familiarize children with the culture and creativity of Kazakhstan and Indonesia, as well as to create conditions for their personal and creative fulfillment. According to the results of the competition, 60 best works were selected, which are presented at the exhibition.

In his video greeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Indonesia Daniyar Sarekenov noted:

"Kazakhstan and Indonesia have much in common, one of them is that we all live in an environment characterized by cultural diversity. Our countries are multinational States that have managed to preserve and strengthen social and interethnic harmony over the years of independence. It is pleasant to realize that the submitted works reflect these values and their bearers are representatives of the younger generation. Each of the participants in the contest has shown diligence and effort, so each deserves to be recognized for their work."

In turn, the former Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Rahmat Pramono, stressed that children are ambassadors of peace, who glorify love for the motherland, peace and friendship best of all with their creativity.

"The creativity of children and how they see the world around them is the best tool for establishing cooperation and mutual understanding between all countries. The current contest allows our children to get to know each other, learn about the culture of another state and introduce their own. All the works of the participants of the contest "Cultural heritage of my country" are at a high level. The victory in the creative contest was won by all the participants – talented guys from Kazakhstan and Indonesia. I am very pleased to be part of this celebration."

Participants of the contest from Indonesia and representatives of the National Library of Indonesia in Jakarta joined the opening of the exhibition via Zoom.

"It is gratifying that the solemn event is taking place on the eve of Independence Day celebrations in Kazakhstan and Indonesia. The National Library of Indonesia fully supports the efforts aimed at strengthening friendship and cooperation between our countries. The current contest, as well as the exhibition, I am sure, will make a great contribution to the further development of friendly relations. It is especially important that our joint efforts give impetus to the creative progress of the children of the two countries," said Muhammad Syarif Bando, Head of the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia.

"Participating in the contest, I wanted to delve into the culture and history of Kazakhstan more and more. For my work, I chose the topic of friendship between our countries. In addition, I wanted to try my hand at the international level. When new horizons open up, I want to comprehend them. Now my dream is to see Kazakhstan," shared Kezia Charil, a participant of the contest "Cultural Heritage of my country", a seventh-grader from Bogor (Indonesia).

The international contest among children and youth of Kazakhstan and Indonesia "Cultural heritage of my country" was announced in early June this year. About 400 participants of the two countries sent their works on the following topics: traditions of the peoples of Kazakhstan and Indonesia; legends/folklore in Kazakhstan/Indonesia; sights of Kazakhstan/Indonesia; the friendship between Kazakhstan and Indonesia; how I celebrate Independence Day in my country (Kazakhstan/Indonesia).

After the end of the exhibition, all the children's works in December 2021 will be presented at the National Library of Indonesia in Jakarta.
