Of the Republic of Kazakhstan-Elbassy
N. Nazarbayev from 08.04.2020

"When we are united, we are invincible" is the motto by which Elbassy unites us in this difficult time for the whole world. His Address is a powerful charge of energy, courage and support for all Kazakhstanis, who in their centuries-old history have managed to overcome many difficulties with dignity. And today, when the whole world "fevers" due to the pandemic and new challenges of time, Nursultan Nazarbayev emphasizes the historical tenacity of our people, their strong will and demonstrates an unshakable faith in their strength. These qualities helped the people of Kazakhstan to cheer up in the first years of independence, in the difficult 1990s. And today, in the hour of dire need, Elbassy is together with the people. And now we can only overcome the scourge by unity and cohesion.
It is no accident that in his article, Nursultan Abishevich quotes the words of our great ancestors - Aiteke Bi, the great Abai, Hero of the Soviet Union Baurzhan Momyshuly. These are symbols of the invincibility of the Kazakh people, its spirit and humane moral basis, thanks to which Kazakhstan lives and develops today.
In his article, the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan gave a clear assessment of the current situation in the world. Today, the coronavirus pandemic and the economic difficulties that followed have significantly shaken the balance of global development. The main support for us is the safety buffer that has been accumulated over the years of independence in the country. The leadership of Kazakhstan is taking all measures to preserve stability in society. That is why the President addresses all Kazakhstanis who today, despite serious challenges, continue to work with dignity.
This difficult time showed how important, painstaking and difficult was the path that the country under the leadership of Elbassy overcame over the past thirty years. Thanks to the far-sighted, strategic thinking of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the country has successfully implemented socio-economic reforms that have allowed to create and strengthen the foundation of the country. And today, with the National Fund and the gold and foreign exchange reserve, the state is doing everything possible to preserve the most valuable thing – a peaceful, stable life for Kazakhstanis. The results of this colossal work today allow us to support those fellow citizens who are most in need of help.
"A bad friend is like a shadow. When the sun is shining – you cannot run away from it, when the clouds gather overhead - you won’t find it" (Jaman dos – kóleńke: basyńdy kún shalsa – qashyp qutyla almaısyń, basyńdy bult shalsa – іzdep taba almaısyń), said the great Abai. The time we are currently experiencing is becoming a challenge for us. And this is especially underscored by the President, speaking about people who are trying to take advantage of the current situation for their own selfish purposes, as well as about states that, for the good of the people, showing prudence, political wisdom and humanity, can forever forget about strife.
"What can I do for our country?" I think that today this question is asked by the majority of our citizens who consider themselves patriots of Kazakhstan, for whom the stability and further prosperity of their native country is not an empty phrase. In these difficult days, Kazakhstanis demonstrate responsibility not only for themselves but also for their loved ones.
Therefore, in his address to a mature, established society, Elbassy expresses pride for his people, who never lose their dignity, overcame difficulties with unity and kindness. And once again I recall the words of the great Abai "Value not that you are the son of a father, but that you are the son of a man" (Atańnyń balasy bolma, adamnyń balasy bol). It is precisely at a time of such global, large-scale crises that the unshakeable universal human values, such noble qualities of our people as respect for the elders, care for the younger ones, to which the Elbassy refers, sound the most vital.
I am convinced that, as once we were able to unite around the First President Nursultan Nazarbayev to support him on the way out of the post-Soviet crisis to development and prosperity, so today we will support the resolute actions of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in the fight against any difficulties that threaten the health of the nation and the security of the state. Together! United, strong, friendly and wise people of Kazakhstan.
