The Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library and Museum celebrated Lady Bird Johnson’s birthday

On December 22, the Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library and Museum celebrated Lady Bird Johnson’s birthday and enjoyed daylong holiday activities, and a special exhibit about first lady. Born in 1912, in Karnack, Texas, Mrs. Johnson was a wife, mother, grandmother, conservationist, political advisor to our 36th president, philanthropist, businesswoman, and first lady. Guests enjoyed special exhibits and different activities dedicated to the first lady.

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina and Alamein International University hosted the global conference on artificial intelligence 

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina, in cooperation with the Alamein International University, hosted the sixth round of the Global Conference on Artificial Intelligence, which took place from 18 – 21 December, 2022.

The Conference was organized by the IEEE Technology and Engineering Management Society, under the theme “Metaverse Frontiers Beyond Digital Transformation”, in a strategic partnership with the National Telecom Regulatory Authority and the University of Dubai.

The Conference included an Industry Summit, a Women in Tech Summit, a Blockchain Summit, and a Triple Helix Exhibition. "The cost of violence against women: challenges and coping mechanisms" in a Bibliotheca Alexandrina expert meeting 

On December 13, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Women Studies and Social Transformation Program organized an expert meeting entitled "The cost of violence against women: challenges and coping mechanisms". The meeting discussed the mechanisms and measures that contribute to eliminating the phenomenon of violence against women, and aims to shed light on the cost incurred by the Egyptian society that result from gender-based violence. Moreover, the experts examined patterns of social relations and daily interactions between members of society, and identified methods of using power in different social and class structures.

 

A group of experts, members of Parliament and the Senate, university professors, judges, decision-makers, and other specialists and those interested in women's issues attended the meeting.

Shoot and Goal: The Turkish Football History Exhibition

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the opening ceremony of “Shoot and Goal: The Turkish Football History Exhibition,” opened by The Nation's Library, as part of the celebrations for the upcoming centenary of the Republic. Exhibition shows archival documents related to the history of football, the first marches written on behalf of the teams, the jerseys worn by football players, the bylaws of the football teams, photographs taken during the competitions and many other objects in a chronological manner. In addition to the originals of the first official documents related to football that can be found from the Ottoman State Archives, there are many unique objects such as the memoirs of Fenerbahçe and Karşıyaka Clubs signed by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

XII Yeltsin Forum was held in Yekaterinburg, Moscow and St. Petersburg

The Yeltsin Forum is traditionally timed to Constitution Day. Since 2018, it has been held in three cities at once: Moscow, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg. This format has continued this year. It took place on December 11 in Yekaterinburg, on December 12 in Moscow and on December 13 in St. Petersburg. 

In honor of the day of Constitution of the Russian Federation on December 11, the Yeltsin Presidential Center in Yekaterinburg will host the next Yeltsin Forum, the theme of which is "Constitution as the basis of the spiritual and moral development of Russia." The twelfth Yeltsin Forum was dedicated to the memory of the State Secretary of the RSFSR, President of the Culture of Dignity Foundation, Gennady Burbulis, who was the author of the concepts and host of the Yeltsin Forums for many years.

The Presidential Library of the Republic of Belarus launched a charity event "Our Children"

For more than a quarter of a century, on the initiative of the Head of State, the Republic of Belarus hold the charity event "Our Children". The Presidential Library of the Republic of Belarus annually participates in the republican action "Our Children". On December 15, 2022, as part of the Our Children charity event, Presidential Library of the Republic of Belarus hosted а concert for the students of the Gomel boarding school for disabled children with special needs of psychophysical development. The library organized a concert program with gifts and an exhibition that represented the arts and crafts of students of the Gomel boarding school for disabled children with special needs of psychophysical development. The deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts and the Minsk branch of the educational institution "Belarusian Trade and Economic University of Consumer Cooperatives" performed for the children.
