CULTURAL HERITAGE AS THE BASIS FOR PATRIOTISM

Within the framework of the implementation of the Scientific and Educational Program, an online lecture "Historical and cultural monuments of Kazakhstan" was held for students of secondary school No. 10 in Nur-Sultan.

As Elbassy N. Nazarbayev noted, "the possession of cultural heritage is the basis of the historical memory of the people, without which there is no true patriotism. Overcoming this inertia of historical forgetfulness is especially important for the education of the younger generation."

In this context, the lecture was devoted to the historical and cultural monuments of Kazakhstan, which are of historical, scientific, architectural, artistic and memorial value and are the national and cultural heritage of the country.

Gulmira Atabayeva, lecturer, researcher of the department of social, humanitarian and educational projects of the Library of Elbassy, told the audience about the significance of historical and cultural heritage on the example of domestic monuments, defined their types, and also noted the relevance of the initiatives of the First President of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev to preserve and popularize historical sights of Kazakhstan. She said that among the 25 thousand registered monuments of Kazakhstan there are sites of primitive people and cities – real pearls of ancient, medieval, eastern architectural art with a thousand-year history.

Our country has historical and cultural sites included in the World Treasury, which in their diversity are on par with many countries of the world. This was especially noted by Head of state K. Tokayev at the International Tourism Forum "Ulytau - 2019": "Located at the intersection of ancient civilizations and major transport arteries, Kazakhstan has remained one of the most important cultural, historical and spiritual centers of the Eurasian continent for centuries."
