Today, a delegation of the Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Cooperation in Central Asia, headed by Executive Director Kairat Sarybay, visited the Library of Elbasy.
During a meeting with the delegation, Director of the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy Bakytzhan Temirbolat told the guests about the activities of the Library aimed at promoting and popularizing the legacy of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. A. Nazarbayev and the achievements of the independent state.
"CICA is one of the key achievements in the political legacy of Elbasy. When in 1992, at the 47th session of the UN General Assembly, the First President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, put forward the initiative to create such a structure, it was a very bold and timely step, because there was no organization like the OSCE on the vast Asian continent, whose countries have a major share in the world gross product. Thanks to the personal efforts of Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kazakhstan's diplomacy, understanding and support from all the states of the Asian continent, which later joined CICA, this idea became a reality", B. Temirbolat said.
In his speech, CICA Executive Director Kairat Sarybay noted that the Library of Elbasy is the keeper of the history of independent Kazakhstan, including the history of the creation and activities of the CICA organization.
"Not only Kazakhstan diplomats but also foreign diplomats would be interested in a series of lectures on the history of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia. I think this topic will be of even greater interest to students of the faculties of International Relations. All of them should visit here on an excursion to get acquainted in detail with the expositions featured in the Library of Elbasy, to see the unique archival documents that reveal the role of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. A. Nazarbayev in the creation of the CICA", head of the delegation K. Sarybay said.
A tour of the halls of the new Library building was organized for the guests. In particular, the guides told in detail about the history of the construction of independent Kazakhstan. Important stages of the development of Kazakhstan's statehood – the adoption of the Constitution, the consolidation of borders, the creation of the Armed Forces, the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan and many other historical events – were studied by the members of the delegation through modern digital solutions. For example, the section "Tenge", dedicated to the history of the creation and development of the national currency, uses AR technology. Using the tablet, the guests saw three-dimensional symbols and objects depicted on Kazakhstan banknotes.
