«BIG REGATTA» STARTED

On October 30, 2020, the annual Big Regatta project was opened in the Library of Elbassy online.

– It is very pleasant that every year this project arouses real interest among the participants. Thanks to the wonderful game "crews" of capital education institutions will get a unique opportunity to visit city museums included in the program of regattas, better learn about native land, life and activities of famous people, which have made a significant contribution to the development of Kazakhstan's society, – said Deputy Director of the Library of Elbassy Botagoz Kaipova, opening the event. She also thanked the project partners and wished the participants new experiences, useful knowledge and creative discoveries.

The inter-museum school project "Big regatta", which has been operating since 2014, is a long-term partner project organized for students of the capital's schools by the Library of Elbassy with the support of the Department of Education and museums of the capital.

Participation in the game will contribute to the formation of historical thinking of students through the museum collection, archival documents, "revival" of museum work in the field, the development of creative initiatives of students, instilling a culture of leisure. The project is also aimed at providing methodological and advisory assistance to school museums in educating students to respect the historical and cultural heritage of their homeland and form an interest in museum values.

The "Regatta" is attended by students of grades 7-8 in teams of 7 people. During the "sea trip", the crews will visit the city's museum institutions with thematic routes: "Special storeroom", "Kaleidoscope of cultures", "And memory, and feat, and glory", and will also fill out logbooks and prepare a video presentation about an exciting journey. After submitting the reporting documents to the "Archipelago" - the Library of Elbassy, the winners of the first stage will be determined. They will be invited to the "Archipelago", the curators of which will prepare interesting tasks for the finalists: to study objects located on the "Archipelago", solve crosswords, complete logical tasks, and answer questions from an intellectual quiz.

The award ceremony for the winners of the contest will be held on December 11 at the Museum of the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbassy.

The teams of secondary schools No. 55, No. 36, gymnasium schools No. 83, 67, 65, 69, 77, 47, lyceum schools No. 38, 8, 71 and Astana Garden School will take part in the "Regatta" 2020.
