ASKHAT SADUOV: «AN ACTIVE CITIZEN WANTS TO MAKE HIS CITY BETTER»

In the Library of Elbassy in a two-day seminar-training "The way to the future begins with everyone" workshop participants - students of Satbayev University and the International University SILKWAY - met with architect, head of the "Center of urban studies", the winner of the project "100 new personalities of Kazakhstan" Askhat Saduov.

A. Saduov's professional achievements include a number of civil and industrial construction projects, participation in the "Astana Expo – 2017" project (filling thematic pavilions and public spaces), and the project of the popular "Atyrau" pedestrian bridge in the city of Nur-Sultan.

As a conceptualist, creator, urbanist, author of a series of lectures and master classes on the development of urban culture and its architectural landscape, Askhat Kenesovich delivered a presentation to the attendees of the master plan "Nur-Sultan - a comfortable city" and a program for the development of public spaces. The guest told the young people about the main aspects of the strategy of spatial development of cities and the interaction between its main systems, presenting them with slides. The children learned a lot about urbanism and measures that can improve the quality of life in the city.

- The citizen differs from the resident in that the citizen worries about the city, it is important to him how it develops. Moreover, if the citizens correctly, constructively and collectively justify the necessary changes, the authorities will meet them. An active citizen wants to make their city better. This is what distinguishes him from a resident, the speaker noted.

Answering numerous questions from Almaty and Shymkent students, A. Saduov told about his participation in EXPO-2017, the concept of the "Atyrau kopiri" bridge project, presented by the Akimat of the Atyrau region to the 20th anniversary of the capital, features of modern urban planning, the role of public transport in the development of cities, etc.

The participants of the training thanked the guest for his time and interesting conversation.

In memory of the visit to the Library, Deputy Director of the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbassy Botagoz Kaipova presented him a book "Nazarbayev. Biography".
