The city of Nur Sultan is a vivid expression of the success of the modern independent state. The capital of Kazakhstan in a short time became the architectural heritage of Eurasia. Thanks to the unique structures, modern technologies of urban planning, the city has become known all over the world. The momentous decision to relocate the capital of Kazakhstan to the very centre of Eurasian space was taken by the First President of the country, N.A. Nazarbayev, on 6 July 1994.
Twenty-seven years have passed since that historic day, and today the main city of our nation is one of the leading political, economic and cultural centers of the world.
The photos that are included in the album, prepared on the initiative of the mayor of Nur-Sultan Altai Kulginov, tell about the history of the city more eloquently than all words. The photo chronicle "Architect of the capital" entered the book collection of the Library of Elbasy.
"The unprecedented, but at the same time confident decision of Elbasy gave a sense of stability and reliability to the young state, and inspired the nation to new achievements. Certainly, Nur-Sultan is the most large-scale project of Independent Kazakhstan. Today, our metropolis positions itself as a city open to innovation and tradition, as a city promoting peace and harmony", the new edition says.
The first pages of the album feature historical photos showing the progress of the construction of the city’s most important sites. Among them are projects of building the residence of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Akorda, the Government and the Parliament of the country, as well as cultural and educational centres of the new capital.
In one of his speeches, Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed that with the construction of the new capital, a new century of Kazakhstan began, all the institutions of statehood were established. The main city of the country has become a new political center, recognizable in the world.
Additionally, in the new building of the museum of the Library of Elbasy, the hall "The way of the strategist" is open to visitors, in which a large-scale exhibition is diplayed, telling not only about the city of Nur-Sultan but also about the future of the country.
