Start of the project of the Elbasy Library "Kazakhstan's Way"
Today in the Museum of the Elbasy Library the launch of the project "Kazakhstan's way", dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, took place. On the eve of Capital Day, the project started with the exhibition "City of Dreams".

The key idea of the "Kazakhstan's Way" Project is a panoramic view of the country's development over 30 years as a dynamic process of creating a society of the future. During the anniversary year, the exhibition space of the historical building – the first residence of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the new capital – will host events dedicated to all regions of the country.

Opening the event, Director of the Library of Elbasy Bakytzhan Temirbolat said:
– Today we are launching the republican exhibition project "Kazakhstan's Way", dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Until the end of the year, a series of thematic exhibitions of all 17 regions will be held in the historic building of the first residence of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the new capital, within the framework of which their achievements for 3 decades of Independence will be highlighted. The project opens with today's exhibition "City of Dreams – Arman Kala". The large-scale exhibition, which begins on the eve of Capital Day, will tell about the main political project of Elbasy – the city of Nur-Sultan. The fateful decision of the First President N. A. Nazarbayev to move the capital is of great historical significance for our people. The flourishing of the capital is the credit of Elbasy and the people of Kazakhstan.

- Dear guests, dear citizens! I invite everyone to take part in today's exhibition and watch it. It is large and very interesting. I hope the exhibition will demonstrate the understanding of the role of our capital in our society, in the world community. It will show our history and the future of our country. I wish the organizers a successful event, the guests fruitful participation in this great event", said Deputy Akim of Nur-Sultan Yermek Kizatov.

As the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy N. A. Nazarbayev says about the modern capital, it "has become a source of the spirit of independence, the spirit of creation and unity. The new capital in the heart of Eurasia has a huge modernization mission. It creates a new space, a new coordinate system, I would say, a new time. It sets the impulse for total renewal and the birth of a new arrangements".
In 1999, the capital of Kazakhstan was awarded the title "City of Peace" by UNESCO. On March 23, 2019, by the decree of the Head of State K. K. Tokayev, Astana was renamed the city of Nur-Sultan.
"The city of Nur-Sultan is a bright embodiment of the success of Kazakhstan. The fateful decision of the First President Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev to move the capital is of great historical importance for our people. Thanks to the will and determination of Elbasy, a large political, economic, cultural and educational center has grown in the center of Eurasia. The flourishing of the capital is the merit of Elbasy and the people of Kazakhstan. All regions of the country have contributed to the construction of Nur-Sultan, which has become a symbol of unity of all Kazakhstanis", the Head of State noted.

The exhibition "City of Dreams" is organized in partnership with the Mayor's Office of the capital, the State Archive of the city of Nur-Sultan, the National Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan, RDI Astanagenplan LLP, KazExpoCongress JSC and is the result of a comprehensive study of the history of the formation and development of the capital based on the materials of the Personal Archive of Elbasy, the museum and book collections of the Library of Elbasy, as well as the collections of partner institutions. The exhibition is presented in two sections:
1. "Nur-Sultan is the new capital of independent Kazakhstan" - materials about the initiatives and ideas of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy N.A. Nazarbayev on the construction of a new capital, thanks to which the city of Nur-Sultan has acquired a unique architectural image, combining the culture and high technologies of the West with the traditions of the East. On the basis of archival documents and photographic materials, viewers will familiarize themselves with the history of the establishment of the capital, which for the world community has become an indicator of the socio-economic and political status of the country and an embodiment of Kazakhstan’s unique development path.

2. "Nur-Sultan is the Center of Diplomacy and Peacemaking" - the materials demonstrate the most important global events that took place in Nur-Sultan, which contributed to strengthening the international status of the young capital and the state as a whole.

In 1994, N. A. Nazarbayev voiced the idea of moving the capital. On July 6, 1994, the Supreme Council made a historic decision to move the capital from Almaty to Akmola. In the heart of Eurasia, the main city of Kazakhstan was built, which received high recognition from the international community.
The history of modern Kazakhstan has shown the effectiveness of the transformations associated with the relocation of the capital, which became a catalyst for the dynamic progress of the independent state. Nur-Sultan today is the mark of pride of the new Kazakhstan, a symbol of the approval of the national idea, the unification of the country, state success and the political will of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy N. A. Nazarbayev.
The exhibition "City of Dreams" will last until August 8 this year.
The final event of the project "Kazakhstan's Way" will be an exhibition dedicated to the cradle of independence - the city of Almaty, which will be held on the eve of Independence Day.
From July to December 2021, residents and guests of the capital will see the history of Independence through the prism of the transformations taking place in all regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan since 1991.
