On the eve of the day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan, the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbassy prepared a virtual exhibition dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan.
The purpose of the exhibition "Cradle of national cultures" is to show the role and place of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan in the political system of the country through the prism of the initiatives and political role of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbassy, Chairman of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev.
The exhibition consists of three main sections. In the section "Formation of the Institute of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan" on the basis of archival documents and photographs, the history of the development and strengthening of the idea of unity and harmony on the platform of the APK is presented.
The section "Elіn súıgen, elі súıgen Elbasy" introduces the viewer to photos of meetings of Elbassy and residents of the country during working trips to the regions of Kazakhstan.
The photos presented in the section "Keys to unity" show the moments of visiting the ethnic and cultural centers of Kazakhstan.
The exhibition also presents awards, souvenirs, gifts from ethno-cultural centers, public organizations and world political figures in different years to N.Nazarbayev as a sign of appreciation and support for his constructive activities in matters of national policy.
The Assembly of Peoples of Kazakhstan (renamed the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan in 2007) was established on March 1, 1995, on the initiative of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbassy N.Nazarbayev.
For the first time, the idea of creating the Assembly as a consultative and advisory body was voiced by N. Nazarbayev in 1992, at the first Forum of the people of Kazakhstan on the occasion of the first anniversary of Independence. As a result of the constitutional reform in 2007, the Assembly was given constitutional status, it received the right to elect 9 deputies to the Mazhilis of the Parliament, which significantly increased the political and managerial role of the APK.
Today, the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan is an instrument of state national policy, whose activities are aimed at implementing and ensuring socio-political stability in the Republic, improving the effectiveness of interaction between state and civil society institutions in the field of inter-ethnic relations.
The world community recognizes the activities of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan headed by Elbassy as a "Kazakhstan model" of inter-ethnic tolerance and inter-confessional harmony.
The holiday "Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan" has been celebrated in our country since 1996, after the signing by the First President of the corresponding decree on October 18, 1995. The new holiday became another important factor in strengthening interethnic harmony in Kazakhstan.
