Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy presents the fund exhibition «State symbols – basis of independence and sovereignty of Kazakhstan», dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the state symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The exhibition consists of two parts:
I. «Historical basis of state symbols». A historical overview of the important stages of the formation of the state symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the context of the formation and development of the Kazakh statehood is presented.
II. «State symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan: Flag, Anthem, Emblem». A set of archival, book and museum materials illustrating the process of discussion, adoption, principles of placement, presentation of state symbols of independent Kazakhstan.
In early 1992, the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan adopted a resolution on the establishment of a working group on the preparation of state symbols. In accordance with this document, a special creative commission was created. It received 1,200 applications with creative designs of sketches of the National Flag, 245 draft images and 67 descriptions of the future Emblem, as well as 750 variants of the Anthem.
On June 4, 1992, at the 7th session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the twelfth convocation, the proposed draft symbols of the country were discussed and approved.
Today, the main symbols of independent Kazakhstan have become recognizable all over the world as a bright sign of the interconnection of the past, present and future of our country, openness, sovereignty and independence.
