THE OPENING OF THE EXHIBITION «COLORS OF KOREA: YESTERDAY AND TODAY»

On March 16, 2021, at 17.00 in the Museum of the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy (11 Beybitshilik street) will open the exhibition "Colors of Korea: Yesterday and Today", before the event at 16.00 will be a master class for those who want to learn the secret of making traditional Korean wedding clothing, "hwarot".
         The event is organized within the framework of the international exhibition project of the Library "Dialogue through Culture" in cooperation with the Korean Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Republic of Kazakhstan with the assistance of the Sookmyung Women's University Museum, as well as within the project of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea and the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange "Traveling Korean Art 2021".
         The exhibition "Colors of Korea: Yesterday and Today" will feature exhibits that are artefacts and reproductions of traditional Korean costumes, as well as modern works by Korean authors, graduates of Sookmyung Women's University, who presented Korean traditional household items. The exhibits are made on the basis of the concept of "five colors – five main directions", demonstrating the harmony of the traditional and modern color palette of Korea.
         In the conditions of quarantine restrictions, the Library of Elbasy takes care of its guests, offering them audio guides that allow them to maintain a social distancing, providing freedom of movement around the exhibition. In the audio guides, you can listen to information about the exhibition in 4 languages: Kazakh, Russian, English and Korean. 
         The exhibition "Colors of Korea: Yesterday and Today" will run until May 16 this year.
